Role Definition:

Caterpillar Electric Power Division is seeking a Human Resources Generalist for an exciting role based in Griffin, GA. In this role you will have primary responsibility for overseeing all HR aspects for the EPD Griffin Operations & Supply Chain team while working closely with the Human Resources Manager and on-site leaders. As a key member of the EPD Human Resources team, it is important to have growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build an engaging culture. What You Will Do:

  • Collaborating with management as a strategic advisor helping identify and prioritize HR initiatives that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.

  • Aligning HR policies and programs to promote employee engagement, retention, and performance.

  • Acting as a trusted coach providing guidance to leaders and managers on HR-related matters, including performance management, compensation, and benefits, etc.

  • Analyzing HR metrics and data to identify trends and opportunities and develop a story to provide data-driven recommendations to management.

  • Support organizational change initiatives by applying change management principles.

  • Support a culture of continuous improvement by providing coaching and feedback.

  • Facilitate conflict resolution, inquiries, and disciplinary actions as necessary.

  • Work with global HR partners and process owners.

  • Assist with hiring, training, and safety-related initiatives.

What You Have:

  • Human Resources Consulting: Knowledge of HR approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to inform, guide and advise managers in HR-related initiatives.

  • HR: Policies, Standards and Procedures: Knowledge of human resource function; ability to uphold the organization's and industry's standards, procedures, and policies regarding human resources management.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.

  • Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Global Perspective: Knowledge of issues, opportunities, and challenges for conducting business in the international marketplace; ability to apply global perspectives appropriately in a wide range of situations.

  • Knowledge of Organization: Knowledge of the organization's vision, structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles, values, and code of ethics; ability to understand the value of aligning capabilities with business goals to support optimal performance.

  • Data Gathering and Reporting: Knowledge of tools, techniques, and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.

  • Employee Relations: Knowledge of the rights and obligations in the employee relations; ability to adhere to legal requirements when handling employee negotiations.

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Experience presenting complex themes to audiences at various levels within an organization

  • Extensive experience with analysis and reporting

  • Outstanding judgment and creative problem-solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Degree or equivalent experience desired
