This position supports the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Program Office (PNT PO) with ongoing modernization, development, and sustainment of a variety of GPS receivers and user equipment to meet existing DoD / civil mandates and DoD / national-level priorities.
Duties include supporting identification, documentation, and implementation of acquisition and sustainment related activities to plan, develop and implement program strategies, milestone preparation is support of government execution of programs
Supports the overall project lead and provides support to various Integrated Product Teams responsible for GPS User Equipment
The various programs being worked will require interfacing with other Air Force, Navy and Army offices for coordination of program related activities
This position will be assigned within the government program office at Robins AFB, GA
Responsible for providing acquisition management and related skills to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services in support of the customer's mission. Services include some or all of the following:
Developing new approaches to potential issues and supporting the management of acquisition strategies for assigned projects, as directed by the project lead
Perform advanced acquisition planning, including market research and consideration of appropriate courses of action to satisfy mission needs and customer requirements
Implement plans by preparing and reviewing program documents, including detailed acquisition plans and documents, development and production schedules, engineering change proposals, and design studies
Identify, analyze and make recommendations concerning acquisition processes, trends, and emerging needs
Evaluate program and mission requirements, and integrate these activities with other program and functional elements within the program office and outside organizations
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
Active Secret Clearance (or eligibility to obtain Secret Clearance within a prescribed timeframe)
8 - 10 years related experience
Bachelors Degree
Experience in development, coordination, and execution of major acquisition documentation and processes associated with program milestones (preferably ACAT I but ACAT II/III acceptable)
Experience with defense acquisition management processes as contained in the DoD 5000 series directives
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Clear understanding of the OSD and USAF Acquisition organization
Additional desired skills and qualifications:
Certified Level I Acquisition PM (DAU or equivalent)
5 years of experience supporting an Acquisition System Program Office within AFLCMC (or predecessor), AFSPC, SMC, or similar US Army / US Navy office
Experience with GPS systems and aircraft/avionics integration
