Overview
FTI is seeking Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join our growing company. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work in a dynamic environment in support of a Government customers.
This position requires an analyst to work hand-in-hand with managers, developers, senior technical personnel, and customer user groups. The candidate will work with the customer to identify and refine software requirements to improve and enhance existing systems, or to develop new systems. The BSA will need to understand and apply the system development methodology. They will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Other responsibilities include requirements refinement, code testing and validation, procedural documentation, analysis documentation, developing Command briefs (e.g. Business Case Analyses, Analyses of Alternatives) and product design presentation.
Working technical knowledge of Surface Navy Ship Systems for Hull Mechanical & Engineering (HM&E) Ship Control Systems (SCS) and Machinery Control Systems (MCS). Working knowledge of maintenance and modernization processes, ability to research various instructions, and other artifacts in support of system wholeness reviews.
Responsibilities
Analyze business issues, define requirements, design computer programs, and recommend automated system controls and protocols to solve organizational information issues. Determine operational objectives, gather information, and evaluate output requirements and formats. Work closely with end users to analyze, define, model, and document systems requirements. Identify project milestones, phases, and elements, and keep team within timeline and budget. Construct workflow charts and diagrams, study system capabilities, and write specifications. Develop organizational change management framework and conduct user acceptance testing. Maintain automated system protocols by writing and updating procedures. May create end-user documentation (e.g., user guides, process flow charts, training materials) and deliver training.
Education/Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree
Requires ability to analyze complex business problems, perform root-cause analysis, propose effective solutions and understand and apply business vision and direction.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Professional products required.
JIRA, Confluence, Portfolio, and SharePoint experience strongly preferred.
Candidate can also work in our Cystal City office
Senior watchstanding experience in Navy Surface Ship bridge watchstanding teams is preferred.
U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance is required.
Career-development professional within field. Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline. Conducts work assignments of increasing complexity, under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.
