Caterpillar's Energy and Transportation Division is currently seeking a Engine Castings Purchasing - Strategy & Governance Manager. In this role, you will be accountable for leading and coordinating the operational strategy and governance for the Engine Castings segment. This is a multi-disciplined role that will require technical familiarity of Caterpillar procurement processes, ability to organize and prioritize complex problems, leadership experience, and strong interpersonal skills. This expertise will lend itself to developing strategies for supplier categories in the Engine Castings team.

Job Opportunity:
The position will lead strategic projects to improve Engine Castings team process efficiency and data analytics and have overall ownership of the global segment performance and compliance dashboard. You will work on segment level processes to strategically monitor and track supplier financial health. You will also be responsible for analyzing shipping and quality performance data to identify opportunities for improvement at a segment level.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring and reporting key aftermarket metrics such as High Priority Back Orders and Unlaunched requisitions, working with category managers to collect specific information to fulfill reporting requests from Strategic Project and Planning Division (SPPD), Business Resources, and other senior leadership.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop and document strategies and operational practices for the Engine Castings team.
Lead strategic projects to improve Engine Castings team process efficiency and data analytics.
Overall ownership of the Global segment performance and compliance dashboard.
Developing processes to proactively monitor and track supplier financial health at the segment level.
Analyzing shipping and quality performance data to identify opportunities for improvement within the segment.
Monitoring and reporting on key aftermarket metrics such as High Priority Back Orders and Unlaunched reqs.
Working with category managers to collect specific information to fulfil requests from SPPD, BR, or other senior leadership.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, Business, or an equivalent level of work experience.
Excellent Purchasing Experience
Proven project leadership with exceptional organizational and deep analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively across teams and at all levels.
The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile and fast-paced environment
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Professional certification in Purchasing or similar preferred e.g. CIPS.
Expert Strategy Management
Experience with a governance role.
PowerBI experience.
Six Sigma Certified
Experience with Lean Tools
