Basic Function
Inspects, troubleshoots, and maintains electrical power circuits and equipment, control and automation systems, electronic and pneumatic equipment used in gas and/or hydrocarbon storage, pipeline and compressor station operations, leach plant operations, and potential measurement facilities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
-Installs, inspects, maintains, operates, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and adjusts various pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, and electronic devices.
-Installs, programs, troubleshoots, repairs various Programmable Logic (PLC) controls.
-Installs, programs, troubleshoots, repairs various SCADA equipment.
-Perform preventative maintenance checks on compressors, pumps, drivers, and auxiliary equipment.
-Performs Inspection and Maintenance (I&M) Compliance checks on all control systems and components.
-Maintain electrical switch gear and power distribution.
-Install, analyze and repair security/intrusion systems.
-Respond to emergency and operational needs whenever necessary.
-Identify and report safety and environmental concerns.
-Completes appropriate documentation and paperwork.
Required Qualifications
-Intermediate computer skills with MS operating system and current MS Office applications, and quick to learn other applications (i.e., company software).
-Associates degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience.
-Five years' work experience in instrumentation, electronics and control systems.
-Working experience with low and high-pressure water pumps, electronic equipment, high pressure gas, processing equipment and reciprocating engines and compressors.
-Experience preparing drawings of electrical circuits.
-Working knowledge of National Electric Code.
-Experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams.
-Process controls and understanding of gas and liquid processing fundamentals.
-Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high-pressure systems.
-Experience applying and interpreting results from common electrical measurement instruments (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, calibration instruments, etc.).
Licenses/Certification
-Valid driver's license and safe driver's record.
Physical Requirements
-Lift and carry medium to heavy weight items.
-Reach overhead for items, stoop, bend, and twist while working.
-Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force frequently.
-Other physical activities include crouching, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions.
-Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to operate a computer.
NOTES:
The person in this position is required to work for extended periods of time in varied weather conditions. May be required to work periodically away from assigned location.
