Job Description:
This Windows System Administrator position requires a strong proficiency in end-user support and Windows active directory administration. Key responsibilities include administration of Windows server and workstation systems, Active Directory, general network maintenance and troubleshooting. Position will also involve migrating/consolidating physical networks to a virtual platform and administration of Citrix/VMware environments. Possess a broad Windows background to support engineering and administrative networks spanning multiple sites.
This individual will have varying levels of knowledge and experience in the following areas:
MS Windows Server & Workstation OS
Dell Wyse Thin Clients
Microsoft Office products
Remote Tools: RDP, VNC, etc.
System Center Config Manager (SCCM)
Essential Functions:
Provide end-user support and system administration for physical and virtual machines for multiple Windows Server/Workstation variants and virtualization technologies
Build, configure, and troubleshoot networks, AD domains, and virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI) with an emphasis in supporting Citrix environments hosted on VMWare hypervisor
Utilize System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and to manage and standardize computing environments by building and deploying SCCM applications/packages, OS deployments, and configuring server/workstation baselines
Support ICD 503 Risk Mitigation Framework (RMF) processes by patching, hardening, and/or upgrading systems as appropriate
Coordinate with IT Security as needed to identify, document, and resolve system vulnerabilities
Develop and promote positive end-user relationships through prompt support and resolution of IT issues
Qualifications:
Bachelor's with 4 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 8 years prior experience or Graduate Degree with 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
Active US DoD Top Secret/SCI OR Top Secret/(SCI eligible) security clearance
An active CI Polygraph or willingness to be submitted/granted a CI (Counter Intelligence) Polygraph
Security+ CE or any DoD 8570 IAT Level I or higher approved certification
4 years' experience working end user support, troubleshooting, and customer service support in a Microsoft Windows environment
Preferred Additional Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communications skills at all levels of an organization
Experience providing direct IT Desktop support in a fast paced environment
Ability to balance multiple tasks and changing priorities
Active US Top Secret/SCI with CI Poly
Experience with Wyse Management Suite
Active Directory and GPO management experience
Experience with Microsoft Exchange
Knowledge of basic networking concepts and working principles. Experience with Cisco Routers and Switches, Network Certification a plus
Experience with SCCM
Experience supporting RedHat, Centos or ubuntu Linux
