As a leader, you will have an overarching view of the Company's partner strategies and ecosystem.
What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?
We are looking for a financial professional with a passion towards excellence and a track-record of ability to influence business decision through analytical data. At the same time, the ability to perform in a fast-pace environment is critical. Your primary responsibilities will include providing value add analysis and financial guidance to the business; leading cross functionally to better connect partner strategies across GEO's and technology areas.
Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Serve as finance lead for the Commercial Channels and Partner Ecosystem.
Demonstrate sound understanding of the Company's technology offerings, customer value proposition of these offerings, as well as competitive differentiation.
Define, drive, and implement the organizations financial framework that drives accountability and maximizes performance.
Demonstrate the ability to understand and navigate through key VMware structure and stakeholders to drive value and process improvement.
Lead developing and delivering value-added analysis and financial guidance to the Commercial and Partner Ecosystem organizations supporting strategic initiatives through topline scenario modeling, investment prioritization, ROI analysis and incentive options.
Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.
Participate in operations reviews to ensure both short-term and long-term business plans are achieved.
Make sound recommendations for improving performance and creating an environment of strong business controls.
Responsible for bi-annual quota setting and the communication of compensation plan.

This role will require extensive business partnership with multiple functions including the Worldwide Partner and Commercial Organization, Geo Partner Organizations, Marketing, Sales Finance, BU Finance, Operations, and Corporate Finance & Accounting.

The hiring manager for this role is Director of Channel Finance, based in Palo Alto.
The manager believes that leadership is not defined by title and encourages her team members to be leaders and live the values they all bring to the team. The manager looks for people who can think creatively to solve problems and do so while being collaborative and courteous.
The Team consists of 1 Director, 3 Senior Managers, 5 Managers and 10 Senior Analyst / Analyst, spread around the globe.
