We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as an Inventory Analyst in Morton, IL.

As an Inventory Analyst you will, support the CLS effort in achieving the client's inventory/customer service objectives in a manner consistent with CLS objectives through project work. You will be expected to understand the Claims and Returns processes in SPM and manage to implement changes to C&R functionality in Service Parts Management (SPM). You will be expected to have an understanding of the returns process at the warehouse level. You will be responsible for managing processes to ensure that Cat Parts Division inventory accuracy levels are maintained and improved. You will be involved in training client and dealer personnel at different levels including management, salaried, and hourly on processes associated with claims/returns and inventory record accuracy and their importance in overall supply chain management.

Job duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • The incumbent is basically project oriented with projects being assigned by the Supervisor or Team Leader.

  • Duration of projects run from two to three days to several months and are worked concurrently with other projects. Projects taken on by the incumbent usually involve extensive data analysis and require the incumbent to be able to apply the results to the current situation. The incumbent usually works from detailed instructions and receives guidance frequently during completion of the project.

  • In performing this function, frequent contact may be made with Work with the individual team members from multiple functional disciplines (Customer Relationship Management, Information Technology Production Support/Implementation teams, C&R Business teams, Warehouse Operations etc.)

  • Most projects will require the incumbent to work in a team environment with members from the client management.

  • Specific projects may include assisting in the implementation of Claims/Returns at a distribution center, Returns process changes etc. To perform these projects, the incumbent must be capable of learning the client's business, the Claims/Returns processing logic for that client, and be able to integrate this information to solve problems involving client/CLS operations and client/CLS systems. The position is challenged to quickly and correctly identify problems.

  • The incumbent is free to determine the best way to complete job assignments in order to achieve desired results. This position impacts key quality goals including dealer/customer satisfaction, safety, continuous improvement, timeliness, accuracy, efficiency, cost savings, process quality, and part quality.

Basic Requirements

  • One to three years of job-related experience are required.

  • Thorough knowledge in various claims/returns processes, parts ordering, and inventory management systems.

  • Must have excellent analytical/problem solving abilities, well developed oral and written communications skills, a strong customer focus, and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people.

  • Experience with SAP Platform

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with multiple functional teams

  • Strong communication and Change Management skills

  • Previous experience managing projects

  • Self-starter with excellent time management, organization and prioritization skills allowing for 2-4 data requests be managed at a time
