Job Description:
As a Warehouse Team Lead at Caterpillar, you will assist the team supervisor in coordinating workflow and training team members. As a team lead, you will be expected to support a culture of inclusion and development within your team. You will promote team relationships, establish team priorities, gather metrics, and generate reports.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
-Oversee management of inventory (FIFO)
-Accountable for tracking quality metrics and meeting Safety, Quality, and Velocity goals in work group
-Lead investigations on customer reported defects, including internal logistics customers
-Operate heavy equipment, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts and overhead cranes
-Perform material handling and warehousing functions as required
-Work independently with minimal supervision
-Ability to work OT when required
-Demonstrating safety excellence and enforcing safety policies and procedures
-Assist with on-the-job training for newly hired warehouse associates
-Be a liaison between team members and team supervisor to aide in answering team member on the job questions/concerns.
Essential Job Functions:
-Occasionally lift parts up to 50 pounds individually or 70 pound as team lift
-Occasional bending, reaching and squatting while performing tasks
-Consistent usage of required PPE for task being performed
-Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
-Standing and/or sitting at a desk while performing tasks
Required Qualifications may include, but are not limited to:
- At least one year of employee training or team management experience (preference is in a manufacturing or logistics operation)
-Experience with growth & development of team members
-Demonstrated Lean Manufacturing experience
-Excellent written and verbal communications skills
-Demonstrated proficiency in mathematical and analytical skills
-Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point, and Access
-Good attendance record
-Ability to maintain accurate and complete records
Physical Requirements:
. Must be able to frequently lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds for intervals of 15-30 minutes
. Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
. Walk, squat, and bend over for intervals of 15-30 minutes, be able to climb stairs, reach overhead and stand for long periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
. Willingness to be trained with pneumatic tools
. Willingness to be trained on forklift, cherry pickers, etc.
Additional Information:
. Overtime may be mandatory based on business need
. Starting wage is $17.55 per hour + $1.50 shift premium
. Openings are located in Clayton, OH
. Eligibility for employment is contingent on passing all active pre-employment screenings
