We are looking for a driven and self-motivated individual to lead the Elgin shipping department.
. Lead day to day operations of the Shipping team to ensure the department is meeting customer requirements.
. Create and maintain operating procedures and training documentation for the Shipping department and validate metrics regarding productivity.
. Manage the domestic and international transportation function to minimize additional cost, while meeting customer requirements
. Manage all operational labor, equipment. and facility budgets for the Shipping department.
. Promote and cultivate a positive working environment consistent with Company goals and values, with an emphasis on teamwork.
. Oversee the scheduling and workload management of associated personnel in the Shipping department and warehouse.
. Coordinate and monitor the flow of production parts moving through the warehouse, while communicating critical information to various stakeholders.
. Maintain close contact with Customers to ensure timely responses regarding customer deliveries and pick up times.
. Review and allocate EWs to -order pullers- top facilitate management of warehouse skids.
. Complete inventory adjustments and reconciliations as needed.
. Collaborate with other department supervisors, managers, plant, and division leadership to trouble shoot issues and problem solve.
. Lead corrective action problem-solving processes for all shipping-related customer concerns, while driving process improvements.
. Collaborate with the HR Team and Quality Manager to resolve personnel issues in a timely manner.
. Develops production floor talent by cross training, developing talent pipeline, and completing annual performance reviews.
. Monitor and manages employee time keeping and entering of paid time off, as well as adherence to the Company's attendance policy.
. Become an expert in the ITW Toolbox process while acting with proficiency in conducting continuous improvement activities with the goal of improving overall department efficiency and flow.
. Promote a safety-first culture including OSHA compliance.
. Maintain all supplies needed for Department efficiency.
. Other duties as assigned.
. Bachelors degree in Operations, or related field, and/or relevant experience.
. Ability to work independently.
. Strong ability to prioritize and organize workload
. Past customer service and data entry experience required.
. Preferred background working in an Automotive industry.
. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to build trust and confidence with customers, employees, and leaders.
. Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.) particularly Excel.
