Overview
To lead the development and execution of talent practices across the credit union with a close focus on talent review, succession and development planning, and talent assessment strategies. Craft and execute talent strategies designed to identify and nurture potential across Navy Federal.
Responsibilities
Lead comprehensive talent review processes to identify high-potential individuals and key talent gaps
Design and implement succession planning initiatives to ensure a robust pipeline of internal talent for critical roles
Establish frameworks and guidelines around development plans for high-potential employees to accelerate their growth and readiness for business critical positions
Design and oversee assessment strategies to evaluate talent capabilities and potential
Collaborate closely with departmental leaders to align talent strategies with business objectives and future needs
Implement systems and tools to track and monitor talent data, ensuring insights are leveraged to inform decision-making
Provide guidance and support to managers in conducting effective talent discussions and fostering a culture of talent development
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in talent assessment, succession planning, and development planning, integrating innovative approaches where applicable
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in all talent practices, ensuring fairness and equity in talent decisions
Perform supervisory/managerial duties
Establish performance goals and priorities
Prepare, conduct and review performance appraisals
Develop, mentor and counsel staff
Provide input and/or prepare budget requirements for Annual Financial Plan (AFP)
Ensure section/branch goals and objectives align with division/department strategy
Ensure efficiency of operations
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Significant experience designing, developing, scaling and supporting organization-wide talent management programs that cover talent review, succession planning and talent assessment for a large organization
Ability to execute strategies that address highly complex and sensitive business issues
Significant experience in supervising and leading employees
Significant experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
Experience in driving change management and influencing organizational culture and values
Advanced skill working with diverse internal and external contacts
Advanced skill presenting to stakeholders and management
Advanced skill building effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy and tact
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of NFCU operations, processes and procedures
Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
