Job Description:
Quality Inspector will inspect and process incoming hardware from external Suppliers, in accordance with the applicable specifications /drawing requirements and review Supplier documentation. Inspector will identify and document non-conformances. Inspector will utilize measurement gauges, inspection instruments, microscopes to perform inspections.
Job includes material logistics, moving material from receiving dock to receiving inspection, sorting material and making it ready for inspection. Job requires attention to detail, ability to process large amounts of material daily and ability to interact with inspection systems and other inspectors. Inspector will also be incharge of managing documentation storage and classification. Works under limited supervision.
Essential Functions:
Inspect incoming mechanical and electrical hardware to determine acceptance or rejection
Verification of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing against engineering drawings
Utilize measurement devices tools such as Calipers, Height Gauge, Optical Comparator, micrometers, scales and dimensional measurement systems
Utilize surface plates, precision measuring tools, gauges (blocks) and other mechanical inspection tools/tooling
Document non-conformances and take photos of discrepancies
Visual inspections of hardware using microscopes and magnifying lens
Review Supplier documentation for adherence to Quality Clauses and Drawing Notes
Evaluate First Article Inspection reports, CMM reports, material certs
Able to pick up 50 lbs.
Ensure receiving inspection processes are followed.
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of Receiving Inspection experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of Receiving Inspection experience.
Experience interpreting 2-D drawings, schematics and knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience in mechanical inspections utilizing inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, surface plate, electronic and mechanical height gages, pin gages, comparator)
Must be able to work overtime when required, including weekends, on short notice to support internal customer contractual delivery.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Certified to IPC-A-600
Certified to IPC-A-610
Certified to IPC/WHMA-A-620
Experience working in a Receiving Inspection department inspecting small complex mechanical parts.
Experience using an XRF instrument
Experience programming Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
Experience with Keyence optical measurement systems
