The Field Sales Consultant in the K-12 market is expected to travel to conduct in-person and over the phone sales consultation with faculty, curriculum directors and administrators. Strategically handling an assigned territory, the develop and implement plans to achieve sales goals, and leverage data analytics to inform targeted efforts. In conjunction with regional managers, you will use an advanced business intelligence toolkit to analyze sales performance, detect buying patterns, and identify priority accounts for outreach during sales planning. By providing quotes, product demonstrations, and other client services crafted to promote Cengage products and you will build lasting relationships with customers.
What You'll Do Here:
Sales prospecting and execution:
Manage a territory with strategic planning skills and strong time management to maximize sales revenue through account penetration and growth.
Engage in sales call activities to prospective customers to explore and present product solutions of both our textbook and digital products, primarily in-person.
Represent and promote, and present NGL products to drive sell-through, digital activations, usage, and to form relationships with decision makers.
Attend conventions and evaluate sales/editorial opportunities as appropriate.
Use software-based analytics / business intelligence tools to identify and prioritize target accounts based on past sales and buying history
Provide customers with sales quotes and in person and online demonstrations of our products.
Conduct regular data admin for own win/loss data in CRM for detailed opportunity management.
Use Consultative Selling Skills framework to build lasting relationships with key instructors across assigned schools.
Approximately 70% travel to visit key customers, work conventions, trainings, and internal meetings.
Administrative:
Provide accurate forecast and sales activity reporting through the use of company sales tools, including regular data maintenance for win/loss in the CRM.
Collaborate with other National Sales Consultants on techniques and strategies to achieve sales objectives.
Handle travel, business and sampling budgets effectively
Ability to transport materials to customer locations is critical to this role, therefore must be able to lift 50 lbs. unaided and move up to 100 lbs. with mechanical assistance.
Conduct regular self-paced learning to further develop skills and knowledge.
Skills You Will Need Here:
Required
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred and a proven, successful track record in a prior sales position.
Experience or strong aptitude for developing and maintaining relationships with a large and diverse group of customers.
Minimum of two years of successful sales experience.
Values and appreciates diversity of thought; able to work with diverse audiences both internally and externally.
Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
High energy and good communication skills both written and verbal.
Driven spirit and high business acumen.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in PC and Microsoft Office applications.
Located within assigned sales territory: Northern LA county, Ventura, and Santa Barbara County
