APS-3: Evidence Control Specialist- HSE

This role is a part of the APS-03 Program. The U.S. Army's pre-positioned stocks (APS) serve to provide materiel power projection around the globe. These strategically positioned resources augment the Army's strategic airlift and military sealift requirements during contingency operations. Our program ensures that the U.S. Army's stocks are properly maintained and ready to deploy at a moment's notice.

The Evidence Control Specialist examines any of a variety of goods, services or operations for conformity to established quality, health, safety, legal, business, ethical or other standards, by performing any combination of the following duties: The Inspector conducts and/or assists in health, safety and environmental audits, provides reports to Principals, and assists in remediating deficiencies. Interprets regulations and codes and assists establishments in altering methods and practices to meet established standards. Investigates complaints and violations, prepares reports of findings and action taken or recommended changes in standards, administrative procedures, facilities, methods, and practices.

The Evidence Control Specialist will:

  • Performs tasks required of site Safety Management Plan to ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Local environmental regulations and instructions to include local command policies and procedures.

  • Participates or chairs the site Safety Committee, plans agenda, conducts training, prepares minutes.

  • Performs a variety of health and safety related activities, typically at a single field location. Obtains necessary assistance or advice from HSE Supervisor and manager, fire department, etc. on matters pertaining to safety, health, environmental and fire protection. Conducts safety and environmental related training programs for all employees, develops training.

  • Assist supervisors in conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis and determining preventive/corrective action.

  • Assist supervisors and employees in developing safe work practices, training, risk assessments, Total Safety Task Instructions, etc.

  • Develops reports from data, trend analysis, provides input to briefings. Reviews, provides input into development of local safety and health procedures.

  • Other duties that may be assigned to meet company and departmental goals and objectives.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have 2+ years related experience.

  • Must have knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable Common Access Card (CAC) issuance.

  • Must be able to meet government-specified requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand - between 2 to 3 hours per day.

  • Must be able to walk - between 4 to 5 hours per day.

  • Must be able to Lift - up to 35 lbs. - 50 lbs. periodically.

  • Must be able to squat, knell, bend, reach and climb periodically.

  • Must be able to work outside and inside in non-climate-controlled environments.
