Summary You will serve as a General Supply Specialist assigned to the NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK (FLCN), Supply Management Department (SMD), Naval District Washington (NDW), Indian Head/ Dahlgren,Hazardous Material Control and Management Program (HMC&M) Office located at Naval Support Activity South Potomac Indian Head, MD. Responsibilities You will provide services and operational support of HAZMAT for the Shore Commands as part of the Navy's Regional CHRIMP Program. You will provide procedural and substantive guidance and material management to personnel involved in the receipt, storage, handling, accounting and reutilization of hazardous property. You will assist tenant commands to identify material needs, verify Authorized Use List (AUL) and ensure that the program is operating in accordance with Navy, OSHA, EPA and Department of Transportation (DoT) requirements. You will be responsible for Shore hazardous material (HM) offloads for all local and transient units. You will coordinate with staff to determine what type of storage, segregation, special handling, and/or labeling is required for all HM, ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and regulations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing general supply support work that requires a knowledge of Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) requirements, regulations, and procedures to manage warehousing operations. Specialized experience must include applying established environmental protection concepts, regulations and techniques to evaluate and monitor routine environmental activities associated with the receipt, storage, handling, accounting, disposal and re-utilization of hazardous materials ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local environmental regulations. Specialized experience must also include the use of supply automatic databases, related to hazardous material management.
