The Innovation Market Research Intern will focus on performing market research, analyze data, and provide actionable recommendations to the business leadership team. The internship is structured to give a student valuable experience researching the market for an industrial product segment and analyzing the data to determine and assess the market opportunities. Projects will provide the intern with the development opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in market research, product segments and market strategy development. The position will report to the Innovation Manager.
Research, collect, and analyze data on the competitive environment, current product offering, customer needs, and market trends using online research tools and internal data.
Collaborate in the development of product development roadmap.
Assists Product Development team to seek out, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities for product improvements, product line additions, new markets, and other growth prospects.
Develop technical and marketing presentations and material.
Will interface primarily with Innovation, Engineering and Sales.
Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing Science and Business Analytics.
Interest in industrial product markets (automotive preferred).
Strong proficiency with Microsoft office - Excel and PowerPoint will be used heavily.
Excellent technical writing skills.
Ability to synthesize abstract data and draw accurate and meaningful conclusions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all layers of the organization, customers, and suppliers.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize work.
Ability to be flexible and work in a team setting.
