Test Engineer
KBR is seeking a Test Engineer to join our team at the NAS in Patuxent River, MD. In this role, you'll be supporting the Navy Test Wing Atlantic's Fixed Wing, Integrated Mission, and Avionics T&E Division development of the E-2D Comms/Network capabilities that assist in maintaining the United States air superiority in the Air Warfare and Surface Warfare mission areas.
As the E-2D Comms/Network Test Engineer, you'll play a significant part in mission effectiveness by planning, executing, providing data analysis, and reporting during the testing of the Advanced Hawkeye.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Apply engineering principles to research, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate systems.
Review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
Apply engineering experience to perform system integration, design, configuration management, quality assurance testing, acquisition, and resource management functions.
Support capability-specific testing following Mission Based Test Design processes.
Basic Qualifications
8 years of experience with complex systems.
5 years of professional engineering experience in research, analysis, planning, designing, developing, testing, or evaluating systems.
3 years' support of mechanical, electrical, or aerospace systems.
Active or current D.O.D Secret Clearance.
Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering discipline (computer engineering, electrical engineering, network engineering, etc.), physics or math. OR 6 years of additional work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Experience in communications and network datalinks, or radar systems, associated with any aircraft: E-2C/E-2D, F/A-18, EA-18G, SH-60, MH-60R, LAMPS, surface ship systems.
Testing of data links and airborne radar.
Knowledge of tactical data links, including Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) and/or Link-16 (Tactical Data Link, Common Data Link, ARC-210, UHF LOS, UHF SATCOM).
Knowledge of and test experience with E-2 Hawkeye systems, Naval Surface Networks, Naval Aviation Networks, and/or Army Ground Network Systems is highly desired.
Navy Test Wing Atlantic test and evaluation processes, interoperability, system of systems, mission systems integration, and mission-based testing.
Airborne communication systems.
Contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
Salary range (based on experience, education, skills, etc.): $108K-$140K
