Caterpillar is hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst to provide the CISD (Construction Industries Services Division) team with commercial leadership, guidance and analysis to achieve profitable Services Growth.

This role will be a key team member on Services NPI projects supporting CISD as well as working closely with CISD Regional Sales Execution teams and Channel Partners (GRUES, Caterpillar Financial, CFAS, GCI, BCP, EXD and EMD). Services NPI projects and commercial support includes Customer Value Agreements, Rebuilds, Hydraulics, Undercarriage, GET and Customer Segments - Retail & Small Core, Core, Corporate accounts and Global Accounts.

Job Summary: This role primarily supports the Commercial consulting team with data analytics and data visualization.

Job Duties:

  • Provide commercial opportunity, performance, pricing, merchandising and financial data and analysis to the commercial consultants on Services Growth opportunities.

  • Provide data pulls, analytics and insights to support Commercial consultants towards performing -Unit of 1- Analysis for decisions on profitability thresholds for Services NPI projects - where needed.

  • Support commercial consultants with data specific opportunity and financial (merchandising, OPACC) analysis for opportunities outside of the Services NPI process.

  • Develop and support data infrastructure, technology stack and analytics on Sales variance across Services Sales Variance programs to support the commercial consultants with meaningful insights for CISD Regional Sales Execution Teams on effective use of sales variance for profitable Services growth.

  • Develop and maintain Commercial analytics dashboards eco-systems to support Commercial consultants and CISD services growth (Incremental revenue analysis dashboards, Sales variance dashboards).

  • Support Commercial consultants on data analysis on monthly presentations and the monthly sales variance barometer report.

  • Own Commercial consulting portfolio for Wear parts and Filters/Fluids - including Services NPI support, Unit of 1 analysis development and profitability/commercials/ Sales variance insights development.

  • Align with Cat Digital on logic validation, dashboard aesthetics consistency and data sources.

  • Provide data analytics support to BIG team on ad hoc commercial analytics requests.

  • Stay updated in the latest industry trends, and techniques in data science, ensuring the organization remains at cutting edge.

  • Limited travel required (15% of working time).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of progressive responsibility related experience in Commercial, Marketing, Financial or Pricing roles.

  • 3+ years of progressively responsibility related experience on data analytics technologies (SQL, Python, Snowflake, PowerBI, Tableau).

Top Candidates will have:

  • Strong Commercial, Financial and/or Pricing Acumen.

  • Strong Data analytics acumen especially with coding and building dashboards.

  • Rebuild/Repair/Wear/Customer Value Agreements related experience.

  • Field rep or dealer/customer facing experience.

  • Strong working knowledge of Aftermarket opportunity, performance and merchandising systems and processes.

  • Demonstrated results with financial impact and/or customer success.

  • Ability to lead, influence and drive decisions across all levels of an organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across functions.

  • Strong presentation and analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize competing demands.

  • Ability to analyze complicated problems and provide simplified solutions.

  • Ability to understand competitive advantage and provide strategic solutions.

Location Details:

  • This position will work from our Chicago or Peoria, IL office.

  • We have a hybrid work environment requiring 3 days of onsite work per week.

  • Domestic relocation assistance is provided within the United States.
