GENERAL SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of administrative support functions. Duties require work flow analysis, process improvement, problem solving, and project management skills. Reports to department leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides a broad range of word processing, secretarial and administrative duties.
Within established procedures, exercises independent judgment, professionalism and discretion in screening calls, prioritizing mail, and maintaining and controlling confidential filing & records.
Transcribes from dictation as necessary.
Schedules/attends meetings and records minutes.
Coordinates office/departments environment/activities and supplies.
Composes non routine correspondences, graphs and spreadsheets.
Communicates effectively and professionally with all departments, managers and employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
None required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
BS in a related health care field preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Two to three years of related administrative clerical experience required.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite to include MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
The ability to use Access is preferred.
Ability to accurately type 45 - 50 wpm.
Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Demonstrates the ability to work in a fast paced environment responding to unpredictable, changing situations and needs with sound judgment and excellent customer relations skills.
Demonstrates the skills set to work independently with little or no supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
