The Opportunity
To enable Best-In-Class leadership training, L&D is hiring a Sr Facilitator who has the talent and capabilities to bring Claims Leadership Training to life and ensure proper skilling for all new MCOs.
The successful candidate will be an experienced operational Claims leader who is proficient with oral and written communication. This individual should have experience speaking or facilitating to large audiences. Most of all, passionate about leadership and embrace the criticality of creating phenomenal leaders.
As a dedicated Facilitator Senior, you will facilitate and deliver leadership training programs across claims to attain learning objectives and meet learners' needs. Facilitate learning on a variety of subjects including complex technical acumen, customer service skills and USAA culture. Support facilitation of programs that foster employee growth. Facilitated learning can take place in person or via virtual environment.
Located in San Antonio, TX the selected candidate will leverage their experience as an operational Claims leader to shape and deliver facilitated Claims leader training as well as the Perform and Sustain program. They will also be able to lead the management and dissemination of Leader Best Practices and be involved in non-training interventions.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in the following location: San Antonio, TX. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
Facilitate learning discussions, learning activities, coaching, and small group interactions.
Lead and instruct employees in multiple learning environments including classrooms, labs, and virtual capabilities.
Coach, mentor and provide development opportunities for other facilitators.
Diagnose learner performance problems, resolve underlying causes and provide recommendations to improve performance.
Maintain accountability for performance results and learning solution effectiveness.
Serve as a subject matter expert in the development, implementation and assessment of curriculum.
Collaborate with peers, customers, management and Instructional Design and Development on business initiatives, development of curriculum and learning solutions.
Maintain business and learning skills/acumen through skills update and professional development.
Identify needed course maintenance, make recommendations for process improvements and completes course revisions as appropriate.
Maintain accountability for performance results and learning solution effectiveness.
Provide training and qualify facilitators to ensure they can deliver on objectives and comply with laws and regulations associated with the delivery of courses.
Ensure risks associated with business activities are efficiently identified, measured, supervised, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
6 years facilitator/instructional experience to include business relevant training, teaching, coaching, training design, development, facilitation and/or deployment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, facilitate training, and provide one-on-one coaching.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of learning theories, adult learning principles and instructional design model.
Lesson and curriculum planning skills with the ability to work with SMEs to identify audience's training needs, learning objectives and content gaps.
Ability to apply a variety of instructional techniques such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures to real-world situations and debrief activities to arrive at learning outcomes.
Experience with Virtual Technology and ability to deliver training remotely.
Applicable licenses as required by CoSA.
What sets you apart:
4+ years as an Operational Claims leadership experience.
Experience leading people within multiple Claims functions.
Demonstrated understanding of traditional P&C Claims metrics.
Experience delivering/communicating to large audiences to include virtual delivery (meetings, trainings, etc.).
Demonstrated experience influencing at all levels of leadership.
Ability to travel as needed.

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $81,770- $147,190 .
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
