Job Description

This position is responsible for developing and executing HR strategies in support of AMI's Manufacturing organization, for building an HR business partner team to support the Manufacturing leadership team, and for leading site level HR support in the US. The incumbent will directly lead U.S. based plant HR resources and work collaboratively with the Canadian HR team to ensure alignment of objectives and successful execution of key strategies and daily operations. The role partners with the HR Centers of Excellence (-COE- -Compensation, Learning and Staffing) to manage the effective acquisition, development and leadership of talent in the manufacturing function. This includes but is not limited to staff selection and development, employee relations, employee engagement & recognition, labor relations, vendor management, performance management, reporting and compliance. _Primary Responsibilities of this role will include:_ 1. Compliance. Driving a disciplined and ethical approach to all people-related matters, this position plays a key role by assuring adherence to the highest of business standards, employment regulations and ethical conduct. * Maintain constantly expanding knowledge and expertise in the ever-changing areas of employment law and regulatory effects on the business and the employees. * Work with inside and outside counsel to identify and mitigate risk, being proactive with solutions to complex people-related issues. * Continuously engage, develop and teach site-based HR resources in all matters of internal and external compliance. 2. HR Strategy Development. In support of manufacturing leadership, develop and execute HR strategies in support of functional strategies and annual operating plan in the areas of talent acquisition, performance management, learning & development, compensation, employee engagement and organizational development. Work with client groups to: * Drive a culture of growth, meeting commitments, and positive employee relations. * Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization at all levels (e.g., evaluation of cost, clarifying roles and responsibilities, organization design, etc.). * Work with the client leadership team to continually monitor performance of the organization and make adjustments to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team. * Work with the manufacturing leadership team to implement consistent and meaningful leadership management operating system (MOS) and communication processes that support the culture, business objectives and mission of the function and business. * Work with the leadership and sites on strategies to increase employee engagement and commitment. 3. Talent Assessment and Development. Conduct organizational talent assessments, continually drive improvements in talent development and acquisition. * Lead the Organization & Talent Review (OTR) process for Manufacturing * Work with leadership to manage/develop talent development. programs/practices (mentoring, leadership development programs, talent assessment, etc.). * Work with the Staffing COE to develop effective talent acquisition processes at all levels. 4. Effective HR Execution. Work with the HR COEs and AMI HR leadership to ensure the aligned and effective delivery of HR support/services to the business and functions. * Provide sound advice and counsel to management on all employee relations matters. * Partner with the Staffing COE to ensure flawless execution of staffing processes for all levels within the business and develop staffing strategies to ensure a robust pipeline of quality candidates. * Program manage key HR initiatives within the function (compensation program development, productivity programs, key staffing initiatives, process standardization, etc.). * Staff and develop a strong HR business partner organization team for the function. Shares information and keeps team members and partners informed. _Education & Experience_: Education: * Undergraduate degree * A masters degree or MBA in Human Resources or Labor Relations (Preferred) Experience: * 10 years of experience in Human Resources * Minimum two (2) years people management experience * 2 to 5 years in a labor (bargained-for) environment * 2 to 5 years generalist experience in a plant environment * 2 to 5 years experience supporting senior leadership, director and/or vice president level * Experience supporting multiple locations * Contract negotiations experience * HR COE experience (Compensation, Benefits, Staffing, Organizational Development) (Preferred) _KEY RELATIONSHIPS:_ * Senior VP, Chief Human Resource Officer with dotted line report to Executive VP's of Window Operations and Extrusion & Metal Operations * Manufacturing Operations Leadership Team and COEs * Plant HR Leaders and staff * HR Generalist, Payroll Specialist and other plant support resources * * Education: * Undergraduate degree * A masters degree or MBA in Human Resources or Labor Relations (Preferred) Experience: * 10 years of experience in Human Resources * Minimum two (2) years people management experience * 2 to 5 years in a labor (bargained-for) environment * 2 to 5 years generalist experience in a plant environment * 2 to 5 years experience supporting senior leadership, director and/or vice president level * Experience supporting multiple locations * Contract negotiations experience * HR COE experience (Compensation, Benefits, Staffing, Organizational Development) (Preferred) All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
