CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for a Software Engineer I.

Type: Contract

Job Title: Software Engineer I

Location: Durham, NC

*Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Durham, NC *

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: BS degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or AAS degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.

A successful candidate in this position will possess strong soft skills as well as

  • Experience with either Maximo 7.6.x or MAS 8.x versions

  • Maximo business application design experience.

  • Strong understanding of Condition-Based and Predictive Maintenance strategies.

  • Strong business communications in a multi-stakeholder environment, especially regarding consultation with users to understand needs, define requirements, and provide effective solutions.

  • Experience in integration design/testing for Maximo suite.

  • Oracle PL/SQL design and execution.

Description

  • Lead technical discussions with business stakeholders and provide best practice solutions for Maximo Asset Management.

  • Provide guidance, training and documentation to high-functioning Maximo CMMS users on a variety of subjects, including work order work flow management, standardizing maintenance business processes, asset cost depreciation and accounting, resource alignment, planning and scheduling and failure code configuration and analysis.

  • Maintain frequent customer contacts within and outside own organization, typically with Maintenance Management and Reliability Engineering professionals as well as Data Analysts, with excellent communication skills applied at all times.

  • Apply sensitivity regarding obtaining or providing information on matters of moderate importance to the organization and may be of a sensitive nature.

  • Work with technical lead and subject matter experts to ensure project timelines.

  • Guide colleagues on the Maximo technical team towards correct solutions.

  • Ensure process compliance on Maximo development processes.

  • Responsible for participating in design efforts for concurrent Maximo configurations across multiple businesses.

  • Debugs and characterizes defects, providing detailed configuration and descriptions for passing and failing tests for test reports.

  • Maintains documentation of test operations and reports results. Identifies actual or potential problems in test plans or company products.

  • Seeks supervisory direction for issues crossing into other functional areas or with broad impacts.

  • Function with limited supervision. No instructions needed on routine work General instructions and/or independent leeway given on new lines of work or special assignments.

  • Coordinate other activities. Schedules own work to meet completion dates.

  • Recommends changes in methods or procedures.

  • Accuracy and reliability of data is critical to utility of project.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • BS degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or AAS degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Accurate and timely communication of statuses risks to stakeholders.

  • Ability to work both as a team member, or independently on complex tasks, to maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.

  • Ability to interact with individuals from various cultural backgrounds, regions, and levels in the organization.

  • Experience with general data manipulation/automation with Maximo or database extract/translate/load tools.

Secondary Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Data Historian visualization and data processing tools; OSI PI platform is preferred.
