As a Fabrications Product Quality Inspector at Caterpillar, you will:
Completes inspections of fabrication structures and undercarriage using standard work, a checklist, and tooling provided (gauges, templates, etc.)
Performs overall quality inspection at quality gates or at pre-delivery inspection.
Inspects welds on the product to ensure it meets the specifications as outlined by Engineering.
Identifies defects, takes pictures, and records results in the defect management system.
Follows and utilizes CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
Basic Requirements:
Basic Computer skills.
Ability to use measuring tools and check gauges.
Physical Requirements:
Lift parts up to 35 pounds individually.
Occasional bending, reaching, and squatting while performing tasks.
Consistent usage of required PPE for the task being performed.
Ability to work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.
Ability to Stand at the workstation while performing tasks.
Top Candidates will also have:
Knowledge of Caterpillar systems ATRS (Assembly Tracking and Reliability System), PINPoint, Geneo).
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook).
Previous quality, welding or fabrication experience.
Schedule:
2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 2:15 PM - 10:15 PM
Mandatory overtime required/ Scheduled in advance.
