Summary You will serve as an IT Specialist (Security) in the Command Staff, of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR PUGET SOUND. Responsibilities You will manage the Information Assurance (IA) Program; acting as the Command Information Assurance Manager (IAM). You will perform duties as the primary information security advisor to the command. You will conduct system security evaluations on various computer networks, systems, and applications. You will develop and conduct risk/vulnerability assessments. You will manage, monitor and control Command shared drives and folders. In addition to experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying a knowledge of advanced information security principles, standards, and practices by developing and interpreting higher level policies and procedures necessary to protect a command's information resources. I am familiar with information security polices and protocols related to the protection of an entire network's infrastructure; acting as a technical expert of computer hardware, software systems, and networks - giving me the ability to plan and conduct evaluations of security software and tools; and information assurance policies, procedures, and practices in order to manage an Information Security (INFOSEC)/Information Assurance (IA) program. Examples of specialized experience must include all or most of the following: 1) Assisting with developing or maintaining a viable system security plan for accreditation of information systems; 2) Applying a knowledge of various DOD/Naval Network Warfare Command (NETWARCOM)/Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR) network operations, protocol, policy and other system and network security requirements; 2) Applying National Institute of Standards and Technology recommended security guidelines and Defense Information Systems Agency Standard Technical Implementation Guides to determine and implement system/network security access measures; 3) Providing advice or guidance in the implementation of IT Security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems; 4) Monitoring and evaluating systems' compliance with Information Technology Security requirements.
