Job Description:

The General Manager of MPES (Director, Program Management) reports to the Vice President and General Manager (VPGM) of the MPES Division.

Essential Functions:

  • Supporting the VPGM in the development and implementation of MPES-Anaheim/Gardena strategy.

  • General Manager is responsible for providing adequate resources essential to establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving the L3Harris MPES.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the sites.

  • Prepares the Company's annual plan for approval by L3Harris and, once approved, has responsibility to deliver, monitor and update that plan.

  • Ensures the Company's financial records are maintained, and all corporate statutory reporting is realized.

  • Ensures the L3Harris Code of Conduct and Business Ethics are strictly observed.

  • Leads and oversees the Business Development functions of the Company and continually adjusts the strategic direction and processes to achieve year-on-year growth.

  • Seeks and identifies strategic opportunities and partnerships for enhancing the viability of the Company and the realization of its goals and objectives.

  • Ensures compliance with all contractual and legal obligations.

  • Provides vision, motivation, and leadership for the company.

  • Sets annual goals & objectives and long-term business plans.

  • Ensures the Business Units are meeting performance goals and overall program execution.

  • Lead and support top management in the review process of reporting on objectives and targets. Has delegation authority to ensure personnel are empowered to make informed and responsible decisions in the implementation of the integrated management system and provide guidance and support when reviewing opportunities for improvement.

  • Mentor programs managers on essentials of program management focused on meeting customer/contract and financial commitments.

  • Champion and lead employee engagement activities.

  • Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion.

  • Drives program execution to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs.

  • Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.

  • Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.

  • Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, performance Statement of Work (SOW) and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract.

  • Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.

  • Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and test.

  • Expands the product line with the customer.

  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems, and obtains solutions, such as allocating resources or changing contractual specifications.

  • Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas.

  • Ability to prepare in-depth business analysis; conduct high level research efforts and render other high level strategic analysis and recommendations.

  • Requires very strong business acumen and analytical skills; Strong planning and financial analysis skills are required; market research experience is a plus.

  • Requires superior written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to listen to extensive discussions and provide a concise summary of all pertinent data, including all legal and historical aspects.

  • Requires good judgment, clear thinking, and the ability to prioritize and address multiple requirements in a fast-paced environment.

  • Support integration of business inputs to form cohesive, meaningful executive summaries and presentations.

  • Gather information, coordinate with the Division VPGM's staff, and conduct necessary research to prepare agendas for key internal and external meetings.

  • Work with business and business development leadership to craft and execute coordinated customer interface plan.

  • Oversee and manage the flow and exchange of information, streamline interactions with key constituents and facilitate initiatives on behalf of the Division VPGM.

  • Accompany the Division VPGM to key internal and external meetings, prepare follow-up documents, and coordinate with staff to ensure relevant actions are taken. Manage special initiatives.

  • Ability to establish a culture of trust, open communications, data driven decision making, customer focus and relentless continuous improvement.

  • Position may require extensive travel, including international travel. Up to 20%.

    Qualifications:

  • Requires both advanced business knowledge and highest level of technical mastery in functional area. Leadership capability to guide business or functional teams without formal management role.

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 15 years of Program Management experience.

  • Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of Program Management experience.

  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of Program Management experience.

  • Must have a current Passport and DL.

  • Active US Secret Clearance required at the time of hire.

  • Must be US Citizen.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active TS w/SCI.

  • Experience in strategy development.

  • PMP certification.

  • Six Sigma Training.

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $138,500 - $257,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
