The Junior Core System Developer is responsible to and under the direct supervision of the Director of Application Technology to administer and maintain the financial core system. This primarily includes the supporting and testing production activities of the core platform system(s). This position is the Tier 1 support for the credit union's core processing system (Symitar). Helps develop and test programs and processes in the core platform. Additionally, will also support the development and maintaining of forms, performs application testing, and maintains documentation on core system processes and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to review, evaluate, ensure testing, and security of all coreplatform software releases in a timely manner ensuring compliance with allapplicable laws and regulations.
Understanding of how operational duties impact organizational strategyand goals
Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to learn onthe job is a must
Demonstrated experience withbasic programming, ability to produce reports, and expertise with standardsoftware applications MS Office and Adobe Acrobat
Self-motivated and willingness to maintain up-to-date knowledge withcurrent and emerging database technologies.
Analyze situations, evaluatealternatives, and implement solutions within standards as directed.
Interpret requests and analyzefactual information to adapt or modify processes in response to changingcircumstances.
Assist in the business process redesign anddocumentation as needed for new or changing technology.
Possess an understanding oftechnological trends and use this knowledge to bring recommendations to business units to enhance theenterprise's competitive edge.
Excellent communication skills,and self-motivated (especially when involving the learning of newtechnologies). Must be able toproactively communicate issues, status, updates or problems to fellow teammembers, management, and/or the entire Technology Department.
Work and communicate with a widerange of people - peers, vendors, the public, staff members including programleadership, and others.
Working knowledge of financialinstitution (credit unions preferred) policies, procedures, regulations andrelated system parameters.
Must be able to exerciseindependent judgment, multi-task and prioritize key tasks in order toconsistently meet given deadlines.
Must be able to actindependently or work within a team on assigned tasks.
Education and Experience:
Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Experience:3-5 years of demonstrated experience in a corporate environment
Preferred experiencein the financial industry with key core platform experience.
