The Manager IT, TBS&P within Gas Technology Solutions will have overall responsibility for leading Supervisor, IT and Technology Planning Analysts supporting the software applications utilized by Southern Company Gas. The Manager will be responsible for the successful liaison between the GAS Operation business units, Application Development, Operations Excellence, TBS&P, and Project Management partners. This position will participate and contribute to operational planning to align business priorities with technology projects, synthesize operational planning goals and articulate them to the internal team to ensure deliverables are met. Assign, prioritize, and monitor projects and tasks assigned to the team for execution.
Education/Experience:
. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree preferred.
. 3 years relevant experience which should include knowledge of Utilities.
. 3 years relevant managing people and teams
. Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
. Experience working in a fast-paced, competitive information technology organization.
. Experience providing technology project and application support
Knowledge/Skills:
. Ensure resources are on-hand and effectively utilized; maintaining the ability to meet customer demands.
. Coordinate work assignments between direct reports and other groups within Gas Technology Solutions
. Take a leadership role in ensuring employee goals are in alignment with Technology Organization goals and strategies.
. Performance management for the direct reports, including performance appraisals, mentoring, coaching, and providing technical leadership to less experienced staff.
. Lead, motivate and develop employees; effectively plan and support projects; apply strong oral and written communication skills; apply strong customer service and negotiating skills; exhibit initiative, and follow through with customer commitments; and apply sound performance techniques.
. Considerable interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively is essential.
. Develop, maintain, and manage comprehensive work plans, work prioritization, and delivery on project commitments.
. Contribute strategic thinking related to how direct reports contribute to and support the Gas Technology Organization
. Lead a team of Supervisors, Business System Analysts, and Technology Planning Analyst
. Partner with business stakeholders to build a long-term strategy and roadmap that support evolvement and transformation of GAS.
. Support systems implementations from large projects to regular production releases
. Partner with stakeholders for planning and prioritization
. Collaborate across the organization, build connections / relationships and foster ownership.
. Provide leadership, mentorship and development through regular connected conversations and check-ins with direct reports; hire and on-board new talent.
