Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide day-to-day leadership of the assigned team to ensure the team safely and efficiently performs the activities related to the assembly, logistics, or quality of Caterpillar engines. Team Leaders report to Section Managers and will be assigned to departments within the business to meet customer and company demands in Seguin, Texas.
What you will do:
Support manufacturing engineers - tool test, prototypes, NPI/CPI projects, program changes
Provide leadership and assist with the training of Production Technicians
Fix issues or communicate with Section Manager, engineer, and maintenance
Ability to fill any position and complete any task within the assigned team
Ensure that parts and materials used in the assembly process are free from quality defects
Assist other departments with problem solving or improvement ideas related to assembly
Provide leadership and assist with the training of Production Technicians
Accurate and efficient delivery and removal of materials
Submit and assist with the resolution of C.P.S. Continuous Improvement cards
Follow standard operating procedures and area specific work instructions
Provide information to supervisors and managers about processes within assigned area
Be technically competent and capable of performing the required operations within the entire Supply Chain area
Delivering work assignments as directed by Section Manager daily and assisting with special projects
Training employees on assigned team to complete processes and certifications
Communicate effectively with the team and across other departments
All other duties as assigned
What you will have:
Ability to work well with others
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Basic Knowledge of Standard Assembly tools and applications
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Able to read engine blueprints
What would make you a top candidate:
1 year of supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
I - 2 years of experience in assembly, operations or manufacturing production
Physical Requirements(with or without reasonable accommodation):
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
Ability to perform repetitive operations
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
