DESCRIPTIONiiiiiiiii Full time position with health insurance and retirement benefits. Starting hourly wage is $15 with advancement opportunities. These advancements are considered with successful testing and years of service.District Technician job duties and responsibilities include surveying, staking, designing, engineering plan preparation, and construction inspection of soil and water conservation practices. Software used includes engineering designs, arc-map, Lidar, and most versions of Microsoft.Applicant must have good communication skills, possess the ability to work under high workloads at peak times and be able to adapt to day to day changes. Strong computer skills, ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and ability to travel over rough and uneven terrain are required. General knowledge of farming or the ability to use surveying instruments is preferred.High school diploma or GED and valid driveris license required. Applicant must be able to pass a USDA background check. Deadline to apply is August 19, 2022.iDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAdvises landowners on installing and maintaining soil and water conservation practices and systems within the soil and water conservation district.Assist in the check-out of conservation practices while following Soil and Water Districts Commission policies and NRCS design specifications.Assists with the conservation practice design, planning, staking of conservation practices.Participates in and provide support to district programs and activities.Gathers technical information to assist the district board in their needs reporting, decision-making, and policy-setting functions.Assists with the district's annual maintenance follow-up on completed conservation practices.iEXAMPLE OF KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESStrongiknowledge of computer systems and software.Ability to keep accurate technical notes documenting practice information.Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers and the public.Ability to communicate effectively.Ability to work independently and to exercise sound judgment and discretion.Ability to accurately complete assignments within specified timeframes.Ability to work outdoors under all types of weather conditions.Ability to travel over rough and uneven terrain.iEXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONSPossession of a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
