Job Description:

The Global Demand Management team in the Excavation Division has an exciting opportunity for you to grow your career as a Demand Consultant for the Americas region.

As the Demand Consultant , you will work with key contacts in Sales & Marketing (GCI), Business Economics, Global S&OP and Demand Management, Production facilities, Supply Chain, Product Group NPI and Area Management to guide the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for Excavation Product Groups to balance demand vs. supply and deliver products profitably to the marketplace, maximizing inventory turns and plant efficiency, as well as stabilizing customer delivery performance.

Specifically, you can expect to:

  • Execute the S&OP process within Excavation product groups, including providing oversight for process conformance.

  • As a S&OP coordinator, collaborate across multiple functional groups, including Facility Demand Management, Marketing, Business Resources, Supply Chain, Operations to ensure S&OP Process compliance, working collaboratively across and others as needed.

  • Participate in the Machine Business Review and Demand Review, where inputs from dealers, economists and marketing occur. You will review and manage that data to ensure it is correct and that demand signals, including both short and long-term forecasts are clear before provided to the next process.

  • Plan & Execute the product group inventory strategy aligning to the model level targets and manage the order plan and inventory level for the product distribution centers supporting the region.

  • Work with facilities to develop production/ shipment plan based on the demand forecast and product availability targets.

  • Organize and lead the supply meeting and the pre-S&OP meeting. You will also lead the Supply Review meeting across multiple facilities, supplying products to Americas region.

  • Champion an enterprise point of view during S&OP Meetings and other collaborative communications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Production Scheduling, Master Scheduling, Machine / Components Demand / Orders Management, Industrial Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing Engineering, Sales Operations or Velocity.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent years (4) of professional experience.

  • Proficiency using Power Point, Excel, SAP/ IBP HANA.

  • Experience preparing complex concepts for presentations to business decision makers and supporting team members.

  • Leadership experience to enforce process discipline across monthly business cycle.

  • Strong ability to deal with uncertainty, ambiguity and be agile.

  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills in order to support the common S&OP Process across multiple departments.

  • Experience within product groups within the functional discipline, or in process execution.

  • Excellent decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop and advocate for recommendations on key business decisions with process partners both in and outside their business unit.

  • Experience or knowledge about Caterpillar Production System principles, specifically those applied to Sales and Operations planning, demand management, constraint management, supply chain and Inventory planning.

  • Advanced expertise in using InfoHub/BIC, DPA.

  • Experience with Corporate Demand Systems, CMOPS, MACH1 and MRP.
