What you'll do here:
Information architecture and data modeling:
Define and design the information architecture strategy, frameworks, and guidelines to enable efficient and effective information management.
Collaborate with enterprise architects, solution architects, and development teams to ensure the alignment of information architecture with system and application design.
Collaborate with business and technical partners to develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical enterprise data models to support information needs.
Manage an enterprise-wide data governance framework:
Define governance principles, policies, standards, roles, and responsibilities.
Guide data stewardship activities, including data classification, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality assurance.
Working with legal and compliance teams, implement controls to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
Develop data training programs to promote data literacy and proficiency.
Collaborate with stakeholders:
Partner with business leaders, IT teams, and data owners to understand data requirements and define data governance objectives.
Provide guidance and support on data governance-related matters.
Communicate the governance and stewardship value to promote agreement and adoption across Cengage.
Stay updated with industry trends and standard methodologies:
Know the newest technologies, regulations, and standards related to data governance.
Participate in industry forums, conferences, and professional networks to share knowledge and stay informed about new developments.
Continuously enhance your skills and expertise in data governance and related disciplines.
Skills you will need here:
Minimum 7 years of data and technology experience
Ability to drive major changes via formal and informal influence
Understanding current data steward industry trends is required
Excellent creative and practical problem-solving and issue-resolution skills
Ability to communicate complex concepts and business value in business terms or technical teams based on audience
Up to 20% travel as required
Preferred:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field or equivalent professional experience
Knowledge of education industry Systems such as LMS, Assessment Engines, and/or Library Research space

Base Pay Range
The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
$111,500.00 - $178,400.00 USD
