This opportunity entails being responsible for auditing quality management systems of traffic control vendors on behalf of our client, conducting internal audits against our client's quality management system requirements, performing document control functions and other quality assurance duties, as required.
The position is located on-site within the Client's Traffic Engineering Research Laboratory in Tallahassee, Florida. Our client is responsible for evaluating and certifying traffic control devices before they can be purchased and used along Florida's roadways.
What You'll Do:
Evaluates quality management systems of vendors against the ISO 9001 standard and develops quality system evaluation reports. Updates various quality system databases.
Interacts and participates in meetings with vendors regarding quality system evaluations. Notifies vendors due for quality system re-evaluation.
Conducts internal quality audits including 5S audits. Conducts independent reviews of product evaluation reports for conformance to procedures.
Manages and maintains effective working relationships with all levels of the client's management and technical staff as well as consultants and vendors undergoing evaluation on their quality system.
Performs document control functions.
Attends quality-related training and events.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Quality Systems, or related field
3 years relevant experience
What We Prefer:
Experience with quality management systems, quality auditing, and document control systems.
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification or ability to be certified within 6 months of hire.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of the ISO 9001 standard.
ASQ Quality Auditor certification or ability to be certified as soon as ASQ requirements for taking exam are met.
