The Opportunity

We are seeking a Testing Specialist for the Bank Growth Engine (BGE) team. Internal title is "Technical Product Manager". BGE's focus is bringing personalized and data-driven Bank product offers to market in a legally compliant and efficient way. The BGE Testing Specialist will drive standardization, execution, and speed of end-to-end testing efforts to support this mission.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week . This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. However, work from home, with occasional business travel, will be considered. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

You will have knowledge of your business and correlated technology domains. You'll contribute to the creation of data-driven business and technology strategies to achieve operational objectives, and help influence teams to ensure business and technology objectives are aligned. You'll assist the business in identifying and handling risks, performance issues, and controls related to your domain. You'll set context and goals with your project teams and help monitor systems on a recurring basis.

What you'll do:

  • Contribute to identifying any/all types of testing (ex: User Acceptance Testing) and understanding of testing process.

  • Lead integration, system, and regression testing for both manual and automated test execution.

  • Evaluate current set of testing tools and methodologies then identify opportunities to streamline and reduce cycle times.

  • Contribute to writing test scripts and conduct testing where necessary.

  • Identify, handle, and resolve any defects/blockers within testing processes.

  • Identify areas of automation and improvement within testing processes.

  • Summarize the results of testing in clear, accurate and concise written and verbal reports.

  • Facilitate coordination of testing and responsible for the package of testing results back to governance for approvals.

  • Maintain accountability for the completeness and accuracy of testing results/reports.

  • Provide guidance on best-practice testing efforts to USAA teams & leader.

  • Identify and handle existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.

  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

  • Follow written risk and compliance policies, standard, and procedures for business activities.

  • Assist in the identification and monitoring of Information Technology General Controls (ITGCs) and Business Application Controls (BACs) to mitigate IT risks.

  • Leverage data to provide insights to business and technology leaders to define strategic objectives.

  • Collaborate with business and IT teams to envision, define, and develop technology solutions aligned with strategic objectives.

  • Work with IT to understand industry technical solutions to drive build vs. buy recommendations.

  • Work with team to develop detailed product features, requirements and develops implementation plans/roadmaps.

  • Collaborate with core teams to identify dependencies that impact the roadmap.

  • Assist with the development of business cases for technology solutions.

  • Participate in product/capability solution sessions.

  • Leverage problem-solving techniques to understand, establish, and report on system health/performance.

  • Work with the business and technology to ensure data flow diagrams are accurate and that required data is stored to facilitate operations and analysis.

  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4+ years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 4+ years in a technical product development role, such as technical product manager, software engineer, development manager, business analyst, or architect that includes experience in agile, innovation, problem solving, analytics and system design/ownership.

  • Experience gathering technical requirements related to a business. problem and assisting a team solution.

  • Ability to analyze and leverage data to understand a problem.

  • Working knowledge of business domain laws and regulations.

  • Working knowledge of agile methodologies.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and present business and technical concepts to peers.

What sets you apart:

  • Experience in program management and execution in a large-scale organization.

  • Advanced knowledge of testing techniques and data analysis principles; ability to interpret subsequent results.

  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis, SQL, UX/UI, and coding.

  • Knowledge and experience of program management methodology (Specifically SAFe Agile).

  • Ability to adeptly collaborate with cross-functional teams on multiple projects.

  • Track record of navigating organizational complexity.

  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $86,520 - $165,340 .

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
