Transports materials/supplies, equipment/furniture, and specimens for all entities of ProMedica as needed and directed. Provides mail and messenger services.
Collects, organizes, loads, transports, unloads, and delivers items according to established schedule to meet customer requirements. Collects specimens, cultures, non-narcotic and narcotic medications, orders, X-rays, supplies and requisitions and delivers items to appropriate destinations. Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs and safety standards. Operates vehicle according to Michigan and Ohio State laws and in a safe and courteous manner at all times. Sorts and processes incoming and outgoing mail. Collects and delivers mail, interdepartmental correspondence, supplies and other items as directed. Adjusts schedule to provide service for emergent, non-scheduled needs. Responds to concerns and requests during the course of the route, providing accurate information to personnel and customers. Performs as a communication link between departments and entities of the system. Answers phone calls and e mails from Dispatch, internal and external customers. Maintains vehicle in optimal condition to assure proper and safe operating conditions. Adheres to proper vehicle maintenance schedules. Records activities on logs as necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Actively supports and participates in process improvement efforts and in team functions/decisions. Serves as a role model for consistent demonstration of and advocacy for PNR's Guiding Principles and Customer Service Standards of Performance. Demonstrates knowledge and respects patient, service provider, and organizational confidentiality procedures and protocols. Maintains and protects patient rights. Maintains and improves personal and professional learning and development through literature, seminars, workshops and affiliations. Seeks and accepts education to learn new skills/competencies and maintain current competencies through educational programs, in-services, and meetings.
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
Skills: - Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills. - Operate computer and peripheral equipment. - Ability to communicate in person and/or via telephone - Basic math, compile statistics. - Maintain filing systems and logs. - Ability to deal effectively with a changing environment and be open to new ideas.
License: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record, as demonstrated by a MVR in order to be covered under the Company's insurance policy Age: Must be 21 years of age.
