Due to continued growth, Hobart Service is looking for an experienced Technical Program Developer/Instructional Systems Designer to join the Field Support and Training team.
Under the general direction of the Director of Training, and in direct coordination with the Service Training Manager create/update training programs for the Hobart Service organization. These include but are not limited to self-paced interactive multi-media programs such as Web-based, E-Learning and Blended programs, including programs to facilitate training, product introductions and distance learning applications. In addition, will design and produce programs using CGI, animations, and video /photography to support multi-media production. This position will work with the Service Training and Service Management teams utilizing Instructional System Design (ISD) methodologies to create best in class solutions for our customers training needs. Work with IT and vendors to create evaluations, reports, and analysis of training effectiveness for the organization.
Responsibilities (80% Core Essential Functions)
Designs training projects and performs instructional design and development of both blended and self-paced interactive programs taking account of adult learning principles.
Uses critical thinking and problem-solving skills; skills in extracting and assimilating chunks of information working them into logical framework, applying principles of behavioral sciences; systematically searching for related information
Utilize instructional design principles or models (e.g. ADDIE, ISD, etc.) to effectively develop courses for new and existing training content.
Evaluate and provide recommendations on using new instructional technologies, innovative instructional practices, and new course delivery methods.
Design, develop, and author interactive and engaging instructional materials with assessments and simulations using a variety of tools and applications to include, audio, video, animation, narrated presentations, podcasts, webcasts, simulations, and virtual learning environments.
Evaluate the effectiveness of learning solutions and use evaluation data to support the learning and development continuous improvement process. Track and trend training/qualification performance.
Consults with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify job tasks and knowledge/performance gaps.
Recommend designs and develop creative learning solutions that include, but are not limited to, classroom training, eLearning and blended learning solutions.
Be knowledgeable in the areas of course design, virtual learning environments, course management, and evaluation systems.
Designs and develops print materials including participant/facilitator guides and job aids.
Ensure all instruction and training operations demonstrate safe practices.
Responsibilities (20% Business-Specific Functions)
Review and provide technical assistance in the development of technical service publications.
Interact with Branch Managers / Independent Servicers, Service Advisors, Product Service, Product Engineering, and other internal departments.
Education:
Experience:
Demonstrated expertise in media development is required.
At least 2-4 years' experience in multi-media authoring/production.
At least 2 years' experience in the creation of training programs for the maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, or electronic equipment.
Knowledge of Instructional System Design methodologies used in technical course and curriculum development to other developers.
Working knowledge of multi-media interactive authoring software. Experience with Captivate, Storyline, Creative Suite, or related software highly desired.
Expertise in working with a Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Experience in video production and video post-production desired.

Technical Aptitude - Ability to use essential technology and software for instructional and communication purposes. Must have excellent graphic design capabilities
Flexibility - Ability to adapt quickly to changing demands, assignments, and circumstances.
Motivation - Ability to inspire oneself and others to reach a goal and/or perform to the best of their ability.
