GENERAL SUMMARY
The Occupational Health - LPN provides nursing care and health services to employees through a comprehensive program that includes, but is not limited to: occupational injury/illness triage, TB surveillance, occupationally required immunizations, and respirator fit testing. Additional responsibilities include Blood-borne pathogen training, infectious disease exposure triage; and, maintaining/updating employee medical records, via hard copy and electronically. Some travel to off-site facilities may be required. Reports to the department leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Tracks and reports department compliance rates for tuberculosis surveillance and mandatory immunizations.
Assists with Worker's Compensation case management; FMLA program; employee return to work program; maintaining OSHA 300 & 300 A logs, as well as all other federal and state reporting.
Participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Current Virginia State licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Practical Nurse holding a valid Compact State license.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
At least two years of related work experience required.
CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
Previous occupational or employee health experience preferred.
Familiarity with respirator fit testing, employee immunizations and TB surveillance preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal clinical office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
