Looking for a former active-duty Marine Corps to support the Senior Marine Corps Advisor (O-6 /Colonel) at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). Serco supports SEA 21 - Surface Ship Maintenance, Modernization and Sustainment. SEA 21 is the dedicated life cycle management organization for the Navy's in-service surface ships and is responsible for managing critical modernization, maintenance, training, and inactivation programs.

In support of the Senior Marine Corps Advisor, you will also be part of the SEA 21 Support Team working closely with SEA 21 customers to provide quality technical and program support. The Serco SEA 21 Support Team has been recognized by NAVSEA for their outstanding contributions to the SEA 21 Mission.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the NAVSEA Senior Marine Corps Advisor and the Platform / Product Support Manager (PMS-321) leadership regarding Marine Corps programs, requirements, priorities, and initiatives impacting amphibious ships and / or expeditionary warfare platforms.

  • Assist Marine Corps Liaison Officer(s) imbedded in NAVSEA (PEO IWS 80, PMS 377, PMS 317, PMS 300, PMS 385, PMS 325, and USMC Onsite Representatives to NAVSEA, Supervisor of Shipbuilding Gulf Coast) and L-Class Ship Class managers with the development of Marine Corps modernization requirements for in-service amphibious ships using the Navy Modernization Process (NMP) and Navy Data Environment (NDE) applications.

  • Assist with the coordination and communication of requests for information and meetings between HQMC organizations and NAVSEA programs.

  • Conduct cross-program liaison activities to advance solutions for Marine Corps priorities and programs impacting amphibious ships.

  • Attend designated program updates, gate reviews, post-deployment debriefs, warfighter forums, working groups, and operational advisory groups and provide an analysis and / or follow-on support to the NAVSEA USMC liaison team or other Government leads.

  • Review daily / weekly / monthly reports, briefings, papers, news / periodicals, minutes, etc., related to Maritime Expeditionary Warfare, DON Budgets, Navy Shipbuilding, Naval Force Structure, Science and Technology, Naval Integration, Operating Concepts, and Marine Corps / Navy programs, and provide analysis, recommendations, or insights to the Senior Marine Corps Advisor, Marine Corps Liaisons, and supported NAVSEA programs regarding potential issues, trends, or gaps.

  • Provide Secretariat support to the Senior Marine Corps Advisor (the Lead Secretariat) and IPT Chair(s) for the Naval Expeditionary Warfare Engineering Integrated Product Team (NExWE IPT).

  • Occasional travel required (no more than 10%).

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years' experience as an active-duty Marine

  • Must be able to transfer/obtain/maintain a Secret clearance pre-employment.

  • Demonstrated experience leading planning teams and working groups, planning, and executing meetings, writing information papers / point papers / meeting minutes, and conducting briefings to senior military leaders.

  • Demonstrated experience working as a staff member supporting Senior Military personnel and leadership.

  • Demonstrated experience with the DOD Acquisitions process, the Joint Capability Integration Development System (JCIDS), the Operations Planning Process, and DOD budget / POM process.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current Navy and Marine Corps doctrine and concepts [i.e. Distributed Maritime Operations (DMO), and Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations (EABO)].

  • Demonstrated skill in the Microsoft Office Applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Demonstrated performance as an initiative-taker, able to work independently and as a member of cross functional product team.
