Seeking dynamic senior level Director of Global Market Strategy - Aerospace & Civil Engineering. Ideal Candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in a similar role specifically in Test and Measurement Market.
Requirements:
Test and Measurement market / business management experience
Market Research, introduction of new products
Product Management and/or Business Unit leadership experience
Experience managing direct reports and leading cross-functional teams.
Product Management of capital equipment or industrial goods.
Must have:
BS or BA in Engineering and/or Marketing, other business disciplines, or relevant technical/scientific discipline.
Experience: 10 years relevant work experience
Travel Requirements: Expected travel averaging 20-30%, domestic and international.

Primary Objective:
Team leader of passion and commitment to success as if a principle business owner of the assigned Test market segment, lead cross-functional market team's overall business performance with a keen focus on driving pipeline, orders, revenue and shipped margin.
Major Areas of Accountability:
Leadership
. Lead the cross-functional team for assigned Global Market Segment including dedicated Core Team members from Product Management, Sales, Application Engineering and Service, and Extended Team members as required from Product Development, Project Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply, Quality and Finance.
. Develop an in-depth understanding of the cross-functional business requirements for the market segment product portfolios and develop corresponding goals and performance targets for the team. Lead the cross-functional team's activities and performance to ensure successful delivery of the team's goals.
. Build strong, relevant application solution and product expertise within the Global Market Team.
Strategic Planning to Drive Growth
. Gather and conduct market research and actively participate in all aspects of customer research to understand customer needs, key market trends, and to identify growth opportunities.
. Lead the strategic planning and execution for the assigned global market. Lead the creation of market plans and identify, prioritize, and develop initiatives to achieve significant growth.
. Collaborate with Service to implement global service strategy for the assigned market to meet business objectives.
Product Management
. Manage product families to achieve business objectives of growth and profitability. Manage trade-offs between product cost, performance, and quality to optimize the financial potential of products in the marketplace considering customer requirements, time to market, value, and competitive landscape. Perfect existing products (improve cost and differentiation) to grow orders, win rates and sold margins. Create and maintain product forecasts and participate in S&OP process.
. Define expectations and collaborate cross-functionally to successfully fulfill orders and provide post-sale service and support.
New Product Planning, Developing and Introduction
. Lead development and implementation of product family strategies, development of long-term product road maps, and detailed product plans for respective product portfolios. Coordinate necessary cross-functional activities to implement these strategies and plans.
. Manage the development and introduction of new products through a formal NPI process.
. Define product launch strategy and set objectives for effective product launches. Measure and manage product launch effectiveness.
Competitive Assessment and Market Knowledge
. Develop in depth knowledge about competition, their strengths, and weaknesses their strategies and their market share.
. Develop competitive differentiation strategy and market messaging content to drive market penetration and growth.
Selling and Pricing
. Work closely with Sales to identify target markets and customer types to focus their selling efforts on optimizing return on sales investment. Collaborate with Sales on creation of sales strategies for key pursuits. Support lead generation activities and programs. Develop sales tools and content for outbound marketing efforts.
. Manage pricing of product families to achieve business objectives over the entire product life cycle. Develop promotional pricing strategies. Configure internal pricing tools and systems. Monitor product price performance.
Customer Intimacy
. Develop market insights and customer intimacy. Identify global customer trends and prioritize action plans. Champion customer quality problem resolution. Recommend or directly participate in relevant symposiums and/or standards boards.
Reporting
. Lead management reviews of market strategy and business performance and participate in key leadership meetings. Utilize Business Reviews to facilitate a wide-spread business understanding throughout the organization and to initiate cross-functional improvement projects to support growth and profitability of the assigned market.
