Southwest TMC Transmission Lines Engineer
NOTE: This position will be filled at an exempt 3, 4, 5 or 6 depending on the skills & experience level of the successful candidate .
This position exists to provide support to the Southwest TMC Transmission Line Maintenance workgroup. The successful candidate's responsibilities will include supporting the TMC Supervisor, Foreman, and Line Crew by providing line design support, preparing and closing capital and maintenance work orders, coordinating material needs, overseeing maintenance and inspection contractors, entering and reviewing data, coordinating work activities with other departments, patrolling transmission lines, coordinating repairs on transmission lines and associated equipment, performing environmental inspections, etc. This position is located in Monroeville, AL. Partial relocation may be available for exempt levels 5-6.
Job Experience
BS Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university required
Experience using transmission or distribution line design software is preferred
2-5 years of experience in the maintenance, construction, and/or operation of transmission or distribution line facilities is preferred
1 year of experience in the formal design of transmission lines is preferred
. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
General knowledge of Transmission Line maintenance policies and business practices
Effective communication skills and the ability to effectively deal with both external and internal customers
Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple high priority projects with deadlines
Availability for standby duty and after-hours emergency response and support
Ability to work in team situations as well as independently from a support role and a leadership role
Currently qualified or be able to become a certified APC drone pilot
Experience using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Experience with or ability to quickly learn transmission and accounting related programs (STOMP, CAMP, Maximo, TLMS, TransMap, ArcMap, TEAMS, etc.)
Demonstrate strong oral and written communications skills
