Offering a brand portfolio that is well recognized within these industrial channels, our premium products address customer pain points and our direct sales team provides expert, value-added consulting at the customer level. ITW Pro Brands has 3 manufacturing facilities (Olathe, KS, Tucker, GA and DeWitt, IA) and a formulation lab in Carol Stream, IL and employs 250+ individuals.

This position will be in Olathe, KS.

Summary:

The Production Manager is responsible for managing the operational and fiscal activities of the department. Plans and develops systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department. Manages staff in accordance with company policies and procedures. He or she is responsible for hiring, training, and coaching employees. Delivers all products/services on-time and at the targeted cost. Leads development and execution of departmental strategies and plans that achieves our revenue, operating profit, continuous improvement quality and 80/20 principals. lean manufacturing objectives. This role will collaborate effectively with other functional areas to define, prioritize, and execute on the division strategy.

Job Duties:

  • Manage the operational and fiscal activities of the department to include staffing levels, budgets, and financial goals.

  • Manages order backlog to ensure key metrics are attained on daily basis (on-time delivery, line fill, product availability, backlog, etc.).

  • Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department.

  • Analyze and document business processes and problems. Develop solutions to enhance efficiencies.

  • Coordinate and implement solutions from process analysis and general department projects.

  • Direct staff in the development, analysis, and preparation of reports.

  • Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Conduct interviews, hire new staff, and provide employee orientation.

  • Completes necessary business justification analysis for additions to department.

  • Provides monthly statistical reports on team productivity and forecast.

  • Manages all recurring site reporting requirements, as well as analysis of site performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Creates SOPs and document system, planning criteria and procedures.

  • Troubleshoot network systems problems to determine the cause and possible solutions; implements solutions to resolve problems and places proactive measurements.

  • Ensures a high level of internal and external customer service. Partners with Quality Control Manager on customer issues and complaints relating to planning and resolution.

  • Supports Quality team to ensure quality standards on product and efficiencies. Act as a back-up for direct reports when required, for critical activities required to serve the customers of ITW Pro Brands.

  • Supports annual requirements of audits such as AS 9100D. Partners with Quality Manager on prep and corrective actions.

  • Ensures Navision and other related system and all IT-related site activities are aligned with FNA Operations, maintaining, and optimizing these systems as needed.

  • Coach and provide career development advice to staff.

  • Establish employee goals and conduct employee performance reviews.

  • Responsible for staff scheduling to include work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and rotations.

  • Assist staff to resolve complex or out of policy operation problems.

  • Coordinate with Human Resources for appropriate staffing levels.

  • Schedule and conduct townhall and/or department monthly meetings.

  • Responsible to meet department productivity and quality goals.

  • Communicates with Operations Manager and all levels of the division on department operations.

  • Partners with Operations Manager and Human Resources on training compliance and performance progression methodologies.

  • Follows the 80/20 philosophy in prioritizing daily tasks and serves as a contributing member of the Operations Staff.

  • Professional represents company in a number of diverse settings including active participation in required audits and other related meetings.

  • Foster, communicate and exemplify the values of ITW; act with integrity and trust, operate with simplicity, treat everyone with respect, take shared risk.

  • Travel as needed for business needs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical field or engineering or any related directly to Manufacturing Operations or Quality Systems.

  • Minimum of ten (5+) years' experience in manufacturing environment, along with leading a team is required.

  • Experience in implementing, validating, and following GMP, audit processes and procedures.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and/or SharePoint and have experience in an integrated information system such as Microsoft Navision.

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, manage priorities and work independently as well as on a team.

  • Well-developed emotional quotient, able to relate well to people at all levels inside and outside the organization such as operators, executives, suppliers, customers, etc.

  • Commitment and willingness to strive toward achieving goals and business objectives. Acts with a sense of urgency to drive results.

  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and willing to take initiative with focus on the key initiatives and opportunities for improvement and growth.

  • Must be capable of working in a manufacturing / laboratory environment, which require exposure to heat, cold, machinery and controlled chemicals.
