POSITION SUMMARY
The Buyer/Planner is responsible for providing reactions to the Master Production Schedule (MPS), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Statistical Inventory Control (SIC) planning, and Sales, Inventory, and Operating Plan (SIOP) including communicating, recommending, updating LN as needed, insuring and expediting both internal and external suppliers.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
Analyzes requirements for assigned suppliers/resources & production lines, and as required; makes decisions regarding Supply Chain strategies that maximize material effectivity while maintaining the expected level of customer service satisfaction and not exceeding the target set for inventory value on components and finished goods (FG)
Reviews planning documents such as Planned Releases, Shortage Report, Line Leader updates, Article Inspection Reports, Engineering Change Reports, Material Discrepancy Reports, and other planning reports for correct data elements, verifies data requirements, and calculates requirements into the appropriate existing data management system
Oversees, analyzes, and makes procurement recommendations regarding purchase orders and/or strategies, based on requests received from customer (internal and external) and trends
Coordinates with Accounting department and Sourcing Buyers to resolve quantity discrepancies
. Oversees, analyzes, and makes work order recommendations regarding release of FG orders and/or strategies, based on requests received from customer (internal and external) and trends
Analyzes purchase planning & FG attributes and makes changes where necessary
Develops and implements measures and process changes focused at reducing the amount of purchase orders & FG not completed timely
Leads task forces or group efforts related to purchasing, planning, and analysis
Advises and provides high level of oversight regarding various purchasing and planning determinations/issues. Generates resolution to these same problems
Liaising with customers, suppliers, and operations
Participates in meetings, conferences, seminars, training, and other technical programs to remains current in material/procurement management policies, procedures, and technological developments in the industry as related to assigned function
Responsible for participating in, or leading as directed, lean process improvements and problem solving activities

Required Experience:
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school): Preferred, Field of Study, Business, Supply Chain Management or Logistics
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing work environment, analyzing and recommending material replenishment, or equivalent years of formal education: Required
Thorough understanding and practical application ability in Statistical Methods: Required
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Required
Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning): Preferred
Experience with SAP: Preferred
Certifications & Licenses:
Certified Professional Project Management Professional (PMP), Supply Management (CPSM) certification or Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM): Preferred
Valid driver's license must be maintained throughout employment that meets Busch insurance standard
Other Requirements:
