Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurementand thedesign andmanufactureof Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

The Lifecycle Manager for Ground Engaging Tools (GET) is accountable for ensuring competitive solutions across the GET portfolio specifically focused on Construction Industries (CI) customers. The incumbent will be responsible for deliver aftermarket growth and business results with a focus on leading initiatives which attract new customers and grow share of wallet with existing customers. The successful Lifecycle Manager will closely collaborate with Caterpillar enterprise business partners and go-to-market teams to address enhancements and impediments to growth including pricing, product support, marketing, inventory, and cost reduction. As such, this individual will develop strategies to optimize the parts sales portfolio as measured by POPS-C, parts margin, OPACC-C, inventory and material cost. This position reports to the Global Senior Commercial Manager and will play a critical, influential role in driving growth.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensures the growth, health and profitability of the CI GET aftermarket parts business. Understands CI Voice of the Customer (VOC) and Voice of the Business (VOB) to align and prioritize product group initiatives which will yield the most positive impact.

  • Works across a global matrix organization with all process partners, including go-to-market teams, to ensure the critical aspects of Seed/Grow/Harvest of the parts business are managed and parts challenges are addressed at the product group level.

  • Serves as Solution Owner for CI GET Dealer Dependencies. Drives action and resolution within the GET product group through delivery to the field.

  • Championing the parts business to the Machine Business Division (MBD) for CI products by providing strategy leadership.

  • Develops strategy for New Product Introduction (NPI), inventory management, cost reduction, and services to maximize profitability, product stability and optimization of parts sales' portfolio.

  • Provides product group support to CI-led GET dealer workshops.

  • Assures product support and service engineering activities for CI GET are appropriate to support customer and dealer services for parts, service and warranty support and assures field knowledge is integrated into new product development.

  • Key Processes Managed:

  • Parts Annual Business Plan (ABP): Contribute to the Parts margin and parts net sales and transfers for CI GET product.

  • POPS Growth: Lead the strategy and growth goals for current products and NPI, further the application of intellectual property, branding, retrofit, upgrades and digital experience for parts growth.

  • Expanded Offerings: Provide objective and subjective data to influence CI GET NPI projects. Develop strategy to address customer needs and profitably grow. Serve as commercial workstream lead for GET NPI Projects which are applicable to CI customers.

  • Lifecycle Solution Improvements: Including but not limited to contribute to service part reuse and rationalization, customer contracts (CVA's), service efficiency and components improvement, to achieve lowest operating costs. Analyze portfolio for trends and recommendations. Provides lifecycle solutions to optimally release, manage and discontinue/rationalize service parts portfolio.

  • Liaison with Cross-Enterprise Partners: Leads parts-related discussions and drive decisions, own CI GET dealer dependency resolution.

  • Parts Marketing: Collaborate with parts marketing and distribution organization on sales programs.

  • OPACC-C/Margin Optimization: Including by not limited to leading pricing study definition, cost reduction project definition and execution, lead negative margin parts resolutions initiatives.

  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.

What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience.

  • Previous commercial-related or customer-facing experience, including in the functional areas of Marketing and/or Sales Support of Component/Products/Applications, Product Support, Engineering, or Logistics.

  • Previous experience in a project leadership-related role where the use of analytical tools and problem-solving methods such as Sigma/Lean and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) have been utilized.

  • Previous experience working within and with a global cross-functional team.

  • Previous experience using Operational and Execution (O&E) Model to develop product and GTM strategy to identify opportunities for growth, rationalization and protection of OPACC pools.

  • Previous experience utilizing Change Management practices and leading complex projects for transformational growth.

  • Knowledge of multiple functional areas within Caterpillar, which may include; NPI/Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), 6 Sigma/Lean, Product Engineering, parts product background or field experience.

  • Experience/knowledge of GET products.
