The Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division has an exciting opportunity for a Customer Delivery Performance Manager with opportunity to work in various locations. The Customer Delivery Performance Manager will be responsible for maintaining a high-performance order-to-delivery capability and enabling success of our marine customers. The manager will interface with marine dedicated suppliers and our partner Caterpillar organizations to improve delivery, transparency and to resolve supply related issues. Incumbent will have considerable impact on the marine business unit and interface with suppliers, Caterpillar production facilities and leadership as well as the marine sales and engineering functions. This is a highly visible role and requires an execution minded leader with ability to network across a wide variety of functions.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Verifies and improves supplier capacity, quality, and delivery performance for a business division.
Collaborates with suppliers and multiple business division functions to address and resolve supplier issues using root cause and corrective action (RCCA).
Integrates efforts with business division supply chain planning, site global purchasing, operations, receiving, Global Transportation, Demand and Orders, Material Requirements Planning and Logistics.
Leads efforts at suppliers to perform Supplier Value Stream Mapping, material flow improvements and preparation to respond to pull triggers.
Provides leadership (sponsorship and governance) for 6 Sigma Rapid Improvement Workshops with suppliers and Caterpillar personnel.
Leads projects to implement improved supplier collaboration with Caterpillar and third-party service providers using common collaboration technologies.
Deploys the Supply Chain Planning Process, providing leadership (and strategic direction) to teams implementing pull material replenishment at suppliers and in the development of suppliers' plan for every part.
Supports supplier efforts to improve performance to the Supplier Quality Monitor, and designs processes and standard work for robust MRDR for supplier material.
Ensures supplier interaction with business division packaging and transportation resources to optimize packaging, containerization, point of use presentation, barcode labeling, ASN compliance, enhanced communications related to quality improvements, and improving carrier selection and transportation container optimization.
Ensures that suppliers have adequate resources, including people, training materials, tooling, fixtures, and equipment, and provides technical support during start-up activities and ongoing strategic support.
Provides leadership, coaching, focus, motivation, and encouragement to direct reports.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of supply chain or related job experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in Global Purchasing, Material Requirements, or Supply Chain / Logistics
Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles
CPS Functional Job Role Qualified
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
Solid product knowledge
Excellent teamwork and leadership skills
Strong supplier relationship management skills
The ability to develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problems
Solid logistics and manufacturing knowledge
Top candidates will also have:
APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification
Experience in Global Purchasing, Material Requirements, or Supply Chain / Logistics
Completion of Caterpillar Leadership training
Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures, especially supplier-focused Caterpillar initiatives
Additional Information:
Willing to travel 30% of the time
This role can work in various Caterpillar locations
