THE ROLE : The Sr. Manager - SAP Basis/Security Leader is responsible for leading the SAP Basis, Security, and PI/PO technical team for all SAP instances across the globe. This role reports to the Director of Development & Integration and works collaboratively with the SAP Center of Excellence to ensure 24/7 support, maintain service levels, and uphold the highest quality in system and technology support. This role will also play an important leadership role in the continued growth and expansion of our SAP platforms.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Lead the SAP Basis, Security, and PI/PO technical team for all SAP instances globally

  • Ensure full-service 24/7 SAP support, collaborating with the SAP Center of Excellence to uphold service levels and support the system and technologies to the highest quality

  • Maintain SAP Basis, infrastructure, and application runtime services to ensure optimal levels of performance

  • Oversee and lead the development and maintenance of PI/PO integrations for SAP environments

  • Manage SAP Security practices, role management, and security maintenance according to best practices and high standards

  • Ensure compliance with SAP Security guidelines and SOX rules

  • Assist with the transformation of legacy ERPs to SAP S/4 over a multi-year program

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a global standard architecture

  • Ensure, influence, and follow SAP release practices and change management standards

  • Monitor and manage team goals and performance to ensure the team understands how they align and relate to broader business goals and strategies

  • Help cross-functional teams connect the dots and collaborate effectively by understanding and sharing solution and delivery integration plans across functional workstreams and technical disciplines

  • Establish partnerships with functional leaders, IT peers, and IT Business Relationship Managers (BRM) to understand, catalog, and maintain Xylem's collective needs for SAP Services and performance

  • Apply own expertise, that of the global team, and of external experts as appropriate in deriving world-class solutions for SAP Technology Service needs

  • Responsible for the successful execution of various projects, service requests, strategies, roadmaps, and service restoration efforts associated with delivering SAP Services

  • Collaborate and contribute to the SAP Technology strategy when appropriate and work with other IT SAP leaders to continue improvement, maintenance, standardization, and simplification of the Xylem SAP Services

  • Provide operational support for all production SAP Technology services owned

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage between 5 - 10 SAP Systems Analysts or Developers plus consultants with the opportunity for growth

  • Manage consultants and contractors, both on-site and offshore, as needed to support various projects

  • Maintain alignment with budgets or budget line items

  • Maintain the technical and professional proficiencies of the SAP BASIS/Security Services team

QUALIFICATIONS :

Bachelor Degree in MIS or CS preferred, or relevant concentration, with 10+ years of experience; or a Graduate Degree (Masters) in MIS or CS preferred, or relevant concentration, with 8+ years of experience; or relevant and equivalent business or IT experience of minimum of 12-14 years.

12+ years of experience with SAP ERP Technology

12+ years of experience with SAP ERP integration, data migration, business process design, or SAP implementations, migrations, or expanding SAP functionality across multiple business process areas (Sales, Service, Manufacturing, Service/Repair, etc.)

Very strong communication skills and ability to communicate across the organization, up the organization, and to technical teams

Strong knowledge and experience leading SAP BASIS and SAP Security

Extensive experience delivering solutions using core SAP technology including but not limited to:

  • Full range of WRICEF related activities and artefacts with SAP deployment, development & customization, including SAP best practices

  • Strong knowledge of SAP Modules, other SAP supporting technologies like Solution Manager, Netweaver Gateway, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The proven ability to present information in various forms so as to clearly communicate the meaning of that information to a broad audience in an actionable and unambiguous way

  • Able to understand and digest complex material from one domain or discipline and present it to people of a different discipline without loss in translation

  • Experience in effectively leading, influencing and building relationships with teams spanning multiple functions and organization branches

  • Experience in effectively managing people remotely

DAY IN THE LIFE :

In this role, the working environment is generally in an office setting and may be performed remotely. The physical demands may include but are not limited to moving around in an office environment, frequent oral communication, close vision, and ability to operate office equipment. Up to 15% time spent traveling.

SALARY :

The estimated salary range at this professional level is $150,000 to $190,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
