Global Rental, Service & Marketing (GRSM) is a part of the Services, Distribution & Digital (SD&D) segment. GRSM is comprised of Global Rental & Used Equipment Services, Global Service and Global Marketing & Brand. The Manager, Rental Excellence Program (REP) is responsible for executing the global dealer Rental Excellence Program (REP) assessments on a quarterly basis in support of improved rental operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Perform dealer REP analysis and report metrics along with industry-based insights to Rental & Used management
Provide recommendations to Rental & Used management and partners on the magnitude and timing of REP metrics changes (when raising the bar) plus recommendation of new/critical industry specific metrics when required
Stay abreast of rental industry moves and shifts that may require REP refinements/adjustments. Demonstrate leadership in soliciting, organizing, and analyzing dealer and internal stakeholders/partners feedback to ensure continual refinement in support of Rental & Used strategy and business objectives
Take the lead in driving development of automated metrics with dealers; define resource requirements and develop work plans towards achieving that capability
Represent Rental & Used in collaborating with other Caterpillar operational excellence program owners to eliminate/reduce inconsistencies and duplication among the programs with the objective of creating a coherent overall framework that drives improvement in dealer capability and performance
Collaborate with Distribution Services Division partners on cross-operational excellence initiatives such as the annual Global Dealer Operational Excellence Awards (design, criteria, judging, etc.), participation in the Operational Excellence Working Committee, harmonize global/regional reporting and reporting system development, dealer recognition, and award process
Lead and manage a team of rental consultants who can provide advisory services to internal partners and dealers to help correct performance gaps revealed through the REP and rapid improvement workshops
Be the key resource group in developing, maintaining, and updating an in-depth rental knowledge base for the use by the extended enterprise (tools, processes, training, etc.)
Lead the development and execution of REP training as needed by CAT dealers and Caterpillar personnel
Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
7 (plus) years of job-related experience with global responsibility
Equipment rental industry experience, including roles with previous managerial responsibility
Demonstrated cross-departmental leadership skills - led cross-functional/department projects with sustained business/process impacts
The ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time
Top Candidates will also have:
Experience in rental operations/lean management
Previous experience in field-based roles in a dealer-facing role
Sales/dealer operations experience
