Summary You will serve as a Materials Handler in the Product and Service Regional Transportation and Distribution for Transportation of Things (TOT) of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE. #LI-NAVSUPFLCJ Responsibilities You will independently perform a wide range of warehousing activities, including receiving, storing, selecting, shipping, and pickup and delivery of general or specialized bulk materials and equipment. You will verify shipments by checking shipping document. You will match specific item identification by name, stock number, letter, code, quantity, unit of issue on containers. You will perform a broad range of standard storage assignments; store, stack, palletize, and/or rotate items considering their use, size, shape, quantity, and special handling requirements. You will maintain overall warehouse efficiency while minimizing the need for excessive movement or restocking of items. You will operate forklift trucks to move, stack, unstack, load and unload bin, and position material. You will perform material handling duties including: use of tools and other equipment, in a safe manner, utilizing safety practices and procedures, and complying with established safety rules and regulations. The Screen-out Element for this position is: the ability to perform the full range of tasks including a full range of standard warehouse activities associated with material re-warehousing and consolidation functions such as: receiving, storing, selecting, shipping, pickup and delivery of general or specialized bulk materials and equipment; verify shipments by checking shipping documents and match specific item identification by name, stock number, letter, code, quantity, unit of issue on containers; count and annotate types and quantities of items and sign receiving documentation; store, stack, palletize and/or rotate items considering their use, size, shape, quantity and special handling requirements; apply material handling techniques in storing items providing for easy retrieval, convenience in handling, protection from damage and ease of movement; maintain overall warehouse efficiency by applying various concepts such as First-In-First-Out (FIFO); receive and delivery hazardous and/or non-hazardous materials in a safe manner to assist customers; select, assemble, and pack items for shipment and operate a variety of material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
