Overview
As a member of the Enterprise Data and Information Management team, the Data Analyst will help analyze data requirements, perform data collection, processing, analysis, modeling, and visualization. This person will also help identify data patterns and trends to enable business requirements and improve decision making. The Data Analyst will work independently as a key stakeholder, contributor and subject matter expert driving complex data analysis with minimal supervision and wide latitude. This person's skills and expertise will be crucial within the team as they work on transformative initiatives within Navy Federal.
Responsibilities
Work directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and propose key data analytics solutions to drive decision-making
Collaborate with business units to generate use cases to drive clarity to requirements
Generate source to target mapping documents for data sets in collaboration with stakeholders
Conduct data profiling to assess data quality and partner with data engineers to drive improvements
Develop data models, document data dictionaries and related metadata
Conduct data lineage to understand data flow from source to consumption
Partner with test engineers on SIT and business stakeholders for UAT
Deliver usage and adoption dashboards to track success of data analytics delivery
Work with peers, business units and/or project teams, and vendors to ensure business needs are fully communicated, documented, and satisfied
Design, develop, maintain, and manage highly advanced reports, dashboards, data models and analytical results of significant impact
Ensure clear, concise, and effective communications
Ensure compliance with Navy Federal Credit Union standards and best practices
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
Expertise in identifying and analyzing business requirements, recommending solutions, and documentation
Expert knowledge of data mapping techniques, data pipelines, and documenting source to target mapping tables working with business and technical stakeholders
Expert knowledge of various data structures and the ability to extract, model and visualize relational and non-relational data sets using Python, erwin, Power BI and related tools
Experience working with real-time data sets in cloud
Experience working with NoSQL data stores, Data Lake, Data Warehouses and BI tools in Azure or similar
Knowledge of standard ETL tools and techniques
Experience with Python, SQL or similar to conduct data analysis and drive business outcomes
Familiarity working in Agile Delivery Teams leveraging Azure Boards or similar
Extensive experience that demonstrates the ability to research, compile, and document data, business processes, and workflows
Extensive experience in problem resolution including determining root cause, scope, and scale of issues
Effective skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely
Expert in understanding and communicating data presented in models, charts, and tables and transforming it into a format that is useful for decision making
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
Master's Degree in Information Systems, a related field, or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
Knowledge of banking/financial industry trends, products, and services
Working knowledge in any core banking solutions
Knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, programs, policies, and procedures
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
