Job Summary:
Caterpillar's IT organization (Global Information Services) is looking for a seasoned communication professional to join our team. This role provides support to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and the cybersecurity organization through consultation and the execution of deliverables at the division and enterprise level.
The assignment represents a shift from learning and assisting to fully contributing in assignments that are broader, more complex and challenging in nature.
Typical internal customers include various contacts throughout the division and enterprise.
What You Will Do: Responsibilities
The incumbent provides communications and organizational change management consulting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and the cybersecurity organization, as well as the Global Information Services (GIS) senior vice president in the development and execution of communication plans and deliverables at the division and enterprise level. Audiences include the Executive Office, board of directors, dealer principals, key customers and the broader workforce.
The incumbent has an understanding of customer needs and develops and implements communication strategies in direct response to those needs. He/she is knowledgeable about company processes, systems and methodologies, as well as the overall organization.
Decisions made by this position are diverse with higher risk issues. Challenges include exceeding expectations in delivering results, considering alternative courses of actions and making timely decisions. The incumbent provides mentoring and direction to less experienced communications representatives.
The position generally manages several non-repeating projects, both internally and externally, through completion. Internal communication outlets utilized could include newsletters, web sites, videos/streaming media, employee meetings, educational materials, presentations, correspondence, special events, cascades, etc.
What You Have:
Establishing and Maintaining Trust: Knowledge of developing and maintaining trust; ability to develop trusting relationships and provide solicited, respected and valued perspectives to clients/peers that guide thinking, facilitate issue resolution and enhance client/peer capabilities.
Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Communicating for Impact: Knowledge of the concepts, tools and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive, transmit and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations.
Planning and Organizing : Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Strong experience with visual messaging such as graphic design and video editing.
Website and user design skillsets/experience.
Knowledge of Poppulo, Adobe Experience Manager and the Microsoft Office 365 suite of tools is highly desired.
