We are seeking a confirmed Data Scientist, with experience in AWS, Snowflake and Machine Learning Operation. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a remote leader, prioritize long term development with day-to-day operations, serve internal customers with autonomy, and lead a small team.

Job Duties:

  • Leverage AWS Services, MWAA Airflow, Snowflake, GIT and Azure DevOps CD-CI pipelines to participate on cross-functional projects

  • Collaborate with internal customers to understand their data, models and system needs and provide solutions through advanced statistical techniques and applied analytics

  • Provide overall guidance to the technical direction of the project and mentor Junior Information Scientists in the creation, validation, and application of statistical models, as well as in implementing digital solutions

  • Lead the team to deliver high-quality work on time and with an emphasis on long-term sustainability

  • Work with a remote leader to ensure alignment with overall company goals and strategy

  • Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices related to machine learning op, data engineering and related technologies

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, and 5+ years of professional experience utilizing quantitative analysis is required, or a PhD and 2+ years of relevant.

  • 5+ years of experience (or a PhD and 2+ years) in data science with experience using cloud services (AWS preferred), MWAA Airflow, Snowflake, GIT and Python, or similar services.

  • Experience with Machine Learning Operations

  • Experience with AWS SageMaker, or similar services

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SAFe Agile

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Masters, or PhD degree in Aerospace, Applied Statistics, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence & Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Science + X, Engineering (various), Informatics, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, MBA with Technical Undergrad, Predictive Analytics, Statistics, or equivalent technical degree.

  • 3+ years of experience with AWS SageMaker and applying Python (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, TensorFlow etc) programming to solve business challenges

  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills and evidence of continuous learning in the analytics field

  • Breadth and depth of knowledge in the application of statistical and/or digital methods to solve business problems

  • Competency in coaching and mentoring Jr. Data Scientists in the creation, validation, and application of statistical models as well as in implementing digital solutions

  • Experience leading a small team

  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc)

  • Experience with automated tests (Regression tests)

  • Strong initiative to research and apply new methods and digital technologies to exceed customer expectations.

  • Must have ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as with customers

Additional Details:

This position has the option to be based out of either our Chicago, IL; Peoria, IL or Dallas, TX offices with a flexible hybrid work environment.
