Position Summary:

The Toolroom Apprentice - Deltar Fasteners will report to the Production Service Manager - Deltar Fasteners and will learn and assist in the duties to construct, alter and repair molds of a complex, intricate, and precise nature. This position will also use machine skills and techniques to build and revise engineering related components including: gages, fixtures, End of Arm Tooling, test panels, etc.

Location: Frankfort, IL

Primary Responsibilities:

. Assist with making, altering, and repairing gauges, jigs, fixtures, special machines, and other devices.

. Learn to set up and operate all tool room equipment including EDM and improvise where equipment is limited.

. Learn to build and repair molds from part prints, 2D electronic prints, 3D CAD detail

. Use of variety of precision measuring instruments, hand tools, machine shop equipment and mills, lathes, grinders, EDM.

. Follow safety rules and keep work areas in a clean and orderly condition.

. Program CNC equipment. Ability to generate and edit CAM programs.

. Complete proper documentation as required

. Learn the basics of injection molding, including, troubleshooting, and maintaining hot runner tooling

. Skid and band tools for shipment. Ship and receive tools and equipment as needed.

. Other tasks and duties as assigned

. High school diploma or equivalent

. Currently enrolled in a machine tool program

. Attention to detail

. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

. Proven oral and written communication skills

. Ability to lift 55 lbs.

. Ability to work with little supervision
